Which was exactly the case in the '60s as well. Shelby doing what Shelby does.Shelby American has always taken Ford products and done modifications to them. The usual process is that a customer buys a Ford Mustang from a Ford dealer and has Ford deliver it to Shelby. Shelby modifies the customer car based on the customer's order with them.
Ford produced Shelby's are developed outside of the regular Ford engineering group by Ford Performance, a completely separate engineering team responsible for the Ford GT's, the Shelby's and the Ford factory race cars.
Think of it this way: FP starts with a body in white and designs the parts needed to make it into a sports car. Shelby American starts with a street Mustang and adds a bunch of special parts to it.
Looks like if you get the GT350R version you get the same hp as a SuperSnake, 830 hp.Junk. This is just a lesser supersnake.
Easy: Shelby doesn't build mod motors, they'd never get it EPA certified, and Ford had nothing to do with this.On 7g, someone asked why did they use an updated version of the Voodoo?
That's because they probably weren't around then. The original Mustangs were built like shit and the Shelby's weren't much better. But they got better and better and we fell in love with them.Which was exactly the case in the '60s as well. Shelby doing what Shelby does.
I always find it odd how people think the original Shelbys were some mystical creation, more than a modified, run of the mill Mustang that they were.
Just looking at the website site by side, you don't get:Looks like if you get the GT350R version you get the same hp as a SuperSnake, 830 hp.
So you get the hp and then hope you can stop it.Just looking at the website site by side, you don't get:
Plus all the carbon fiber stuff (can be added though, it looks like)
- Shelby extreme cooling system

Fender vents
If they are using Dark Horse with the handling package setup, then one can argue that they don't need to upgrade the shocks/struts. There is an upgraded version of the Magneride shocks and struts that is offered from Steeda, but are essentially from Ford. They come stock on the GT350R and GT500. Along with that, I would assume that the Magneride controller is upgraded as well. They don't even change the shocks/struts...
Performance Features

It starts life as a GT, not a DH per the SA site.If they are using Dark Horse with the handling package, then one can argue that they don't need to upgrade the shocks/struts. I actually answered the question rhetorically in my quote.Easy: Shelby doesn't build mod motors, they'd never get it EPA certified, and Ford had nothing to do with this.
