that is correct. they use very small chambers of different sizes to muffle the exhaust. No packing at all. The longer they are the more they muffle the exhaust hence the V8 version of the exhaust has 2 long mufflers per side.
Interesting. Definitely does great things for the EB!

And, the DP in the test was catted? For me, the real benefit is to get rid of that cat and open up the exhaust. It is pretty loud with a cat on it. This system probably needs a resonator.

You do know you can buy their "mufflers" separately.

Mike

Yes you can buy them separately from SW and I believe if you call them you can even order in different lengths.

Oh....sheeeiiit. I like it. Almost no mufflers at all. No resonator either. LOL.

Very pricey. I swear, parts for this car must be plated in platinum. $1500 exhaust systems, FML.

Mike
Yeah pricey for an exhaust that is basically a straight pipe. One Negative on the SW is all bends they put in there. They could have gotten away with using a lot less bends and angling the mufflers.

I ordered the UE DP this morning so once that comes in I'm going to make 3" dumped exhaust using an old Magnaflow race muffler for the track. After hearing this video I bet it would not sound all that bad.

You could essentially recreate SW's exhaust using a stock GT catback. Delete the resonator on the GT exhaust and replace it with a 3in pipe and y-pipe. Then add their mufflers in the stock muffler location. Say around $300 for their mufflers, $200 for a Gt catback, and $100 for the y-pipe and 3in pipe. Thats $600 total for a recreation of the SW exhaust.

Are we sure that the Downpipe was catted in the video?

All we know is that it was an SW downpipe... I agree though that it sounds louder then I would think a catted system would sound.

I checked the GT video, and they have the db level as well. For what it's worth, it's still quieter than the GT by a decent amount lol. Their full ecoboost system is in between the stock GT system, and their complete GT system. The interior shots make me feel better, as it didn't seem overbearing inside.

yes you could for sure. Even cheaper if you skip going all stainless.

If you run a Off-road downpipe that means that you will run rich right? Is that a bad thing?

adding any mods to the car that change the flow of the intake and exhaust will make the car run more rich at wide open throttle but will be fine at part throttle. Hence the need for a tune after you get all the mods installed. I won't go into details on why it does this because its way to complicated for me to explain LTFT's, STFT's, VE and MAF tables. Its not a bad thing unless it soo far out of whack its throwing codes for a Rich condition but you will be leaving a lot of Power on the table and a lot of wasted fuel out the tailpipe without a tune.

After hearing the new RIP video I don't like it as much anymore. The SW I just heard and loved immediately. Definitely my favorite exhaust at this point.
