I just received my oil analysis since my engine went Whipple. Amount of E85 found in oil was very very low. All wear was very minimal and matched my previous N/A Analysis I had done at around 900miles.

So long as you drive long drives rather than short, itl burn out

It's important especially with E85 to let your engine warm up prior to WOT. I just wanted to see how the wear level were and if the E85 diluted the oil reducing the viscocity.

Buried in the calibration there’s a parameter that shortens the OLM as a function of learned ethanol. It’s a factor of 0.5 on e85 but there are lots of factors so I don’t know how it might affect the resulting time or mileage. All this to say, ford accounts for it.

I use the Motul Nismo competition 5w-40 oil. The report shows my oil viscosity did lower but was not enough to cause issues. So I will do an oil Analysis every 700 miles or so and monitor.

Virtually all oils show viscosity loss with use, including my Uber-expensive ester-based redline. The only exception may be mercury marine oils that specifically exclude VII.

That said, something is up with blackstone viscosity measurement. Not only do they always seem to come in low, even for voa, but their acceptable range doesn’t match sae J300.

TBN is left over from old days. Its nice to see people doing oil sampling but next time I would use SPEEDiagnostix. Lake actually formulates oil for performance and racing engines and personally reviews every sample sent in. We moved all our sampling to him and even have a Coyote specific kit that allows you to sample from the dipstick so its clean and easy. I attached an file from them. It saves you from Googling every measurement. This was 5 year old oil BTW and had an engine flush additive (BG System) I could have kept running it LOL.

The Motul Nismo Competision oiI I use is $18 a liter and is a Ester based oil. I also agree, all of my oil analysis I get even with my DD show low vicinity. I also have used Redline and Amsoil and I never had any issue with them. Have a Great Thanksgiving Day with your family. Family First, always leads to a Happy Life!!

Do yall actually use the oil life through the car? I never had that go below 5k mile intervals so i ignore it

I certainly do. I use acea a3/b4 oil in my Roush truck which is rated for extended drain intervals even beyond what api sp are good for, plus higher starting viscosity so shear thinning isn’t a concern. In my car, I’ve found the redline 5w50 controls the vct through the life of the oil, while no other 5w50 I tried would do that. I see no reason to change early, especially with the higher concentration of anti-wear additives in both of those. Keep in mind my OLM is corrected for e85 so it takes that into account as well.

I change my GT ever winter which is about 1000 miles LOL But I also do Oil analysis every 6 months which still works out to once a year LOL. My regular vehicles I change my full synthetic every 7-10k miles but do an oil Analysis to determine actual intervals between 7-10k

Ah, i just do 4500 miles intervals on all my cars, the oil life for the stang shows 30-40% but my oil analysis says its a perfect time to change my oil, using 5w40 castrol edge euro formula between the gt, bmw, and mini cooper

Then again i rip hard for street use and change about it twice a year

Replacing oil is cheap compared to rebuilding and engine. My oil change cost around $200 and I don't mind if it helps my engine live under extreme pressures.

I do my own oil so i only pay like 70$ in material, as well as my own engine builds 🤣
But yea its definitely better to do good oil intervals and good oil for many reasons including avoiding rebuilds
