They are good. I used them a lot last weekend too. Excellent for removing coating, on wheels especially.. Use and toss, kept me from ruining my good pearl weaves en masse. I have a big stack of ones I have used and washed, they are excellent around the house and wash really well.

I'm extremely cognizant of not being another winger when it comes to our free public health service. I watched on as many around me got antsy and approaching rudeness, NOTHING good comes from that. The doctors and nurses work hard, often under extreme pressure, they don't want anyone waiting for too long either. It's easy to complain and be rude in those situations, there is often a lot of emotion going on and humans under pressure don't always think logically.

Personally, being in retail, I know how uncomfortable it can be dealing with rudeness and entitlement. I'm also ashamed that I too have been an agitated and rude customer, and it didn't make me feel better afterwards, and undoubtably the poor attendant didn't either. So I try not to project that sort of frustration onto someone simply doing their job. I thanked every nurse and every doctor when appropriate.

Its easy to be negative, and like just about everything, typically you only hear the bad things. Did I get annoyed waiting, yep. Did I carry on about it, no I didn't. Did I get frustrated that no one was available to assist a family member actually find where I was in the hospital and I had to go looking for him, certainly yes. But again, I'm not the only person there needing assistance. My father picked me up and was getting antsy about things, but he has only recently gone through a major health battle so he's pretty intolerant to it.

Thing is, they took me in, treated me, got me home with a support worker calling daily, and hopefully this will be behind me soon enough. At the moment, the hardest part is the pain management, even the strong stuff is not working.

Excellent! Do you have tape or Loctite? This is the note on my suppliers website about fittings -

MTM Stainless Steel QC Plug 3/8 NPT | Detailing Shed

"British Standard Pipe Thread (BSP) is found in the European market and has a different thread pitch than NPT. BSP is also considered a 'straight thread' which means it has no taper at the end. When installing NPT on BSP or vice versa, use 6-7 wraps of Teflon or 2-3 drops of Loctite and tighten accordingly. When tightening opposing thread styles (BSP and NPT) you will experience more interference sooner and you will not be able to tighten the fitting as far as like-threads. You will still have a tight seal, just make sure to use the recommended amount of Teflon Tape or Loctite."

He uses Loctite on all of the pre-assembled guns and other accessories to ensure water tightness and a neater finish than thread tape.

As soon as I picked up the new (old) Rover and gave it the once over, I went and ordered a muffler deflector to match the rest of the fleet.

These deflectors are designed for alternative engine applications, say a pressure washer, and redirect exhaust gasses away from the machine and avoid carbon accumulation. A very old engine/mower, but it illustrates why they were introduced.

So, in my case, completely useless other than it makes me happy.

That's all I could muster today, the pain is dragging me down and the meds they sent me home with aren't touching it.

The Rag Company and OG have been doing walk throughs that have been helping me pass the time. I even took my AirPod's with me and was watching them in hospital. I love seeing the new stuff that's on the horizon, even if it takes forever to arrive in Australia.

The TRC videos focus on detailing, mostly from the brands they sell.



The OG videos cover not just detailing, but tools and garage stuff in general. Those new Wera impact sockets in the foam inlay I WANT, and the new wrenches! (From about 16.45 in the below video)

You mentioned elsewhere a “pseudo coating” (my term) for wheels.
Hydro2 Lite/Gyeon WetCoat/303 product onto clean wet wheels every 2-3 washes for some protection.
I intend to try this on return.

I like investigating your advice. I saw a short video on CarPro Hydo2 lite on black Toyota Ute bodywork;
spray on/Spray off with amazing results and ease.

In between rinsing off CarPro Reset wash and using Beadmaker drying aid, would there be any extra protection and longevity on the body panels?

Or is it superfluous action?

I've noticed a lack of video's on Hydr02 and Hydr02 Lite, I guess this is a video I would like to make in the future. Some find it a hard concept to grasp, as in its applied to a clean, wet surface. Personally, I'm not a fan of Hydr02 on paint as it can get a bit streaky, which I couldn't nail down the cause. Actually, I stopped mixing my own Hydr02 and started to buy the premixed Hydr02 Lite and it seems to be more stable. For wheels, its a brilliant solution for those who don't want to be removing the wheels from the car to get coverage onto the barrels and calipers.

In terms of more substantial protection, then using Bead Maker as the drying aid/topper, the options are endless. You could always apply a wax or sealant, I've found Collinite 845 plays really well with Bead Maker. Naturally, that will be a more intensive application process.

A ceramic coating would be the highest level of protection but is a more involved application and prep process. The compromise would be something like Gyeon Can Coat EVO. This product is much more forgiving to apply, will give 12+ months durability (or more on garage queens) and crazy water behavior. But you still need to be mindful that it will high-spot like any coating, and the sprayable nature doesn't mean its sprayed onto the surface like Bead Maker, its literally two sprays into a towel per panel. Watch a few videos to see the process.

The simplest and easiest would be to use a more substantial ceramic spray sealant. Bead Maker is technically a spray sealant, but its not a ceramic or known for exceptional longevity. That doesn't mean its a terrible product like the internet would have you believe, so using it as a topper to a more substantial product would be a great compromise. The following are used in a similar spray and wipe application -

Koch Chemie S0.02 - this is expensive here, but a little goes a long way and the application is so easy.

ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant - Compared to S0.02, this is just as easy to apply and is supposed to deliver even better hydrophobic properties. I've applied it a couple of times but haven't witnessed its water behavior. Expect 6+ months. This would be the one I would go for.

Carpro Reload - This stuff was one of the original spray sealants, and as time moved on, it sort of lost a bit of ground to newer competition. However, the latest 2.0 version is much improved in terms of application ease and longevity.

LOVE Hydro for wheels, I have used on paint a few times but not the whole car, just spot treat (like lower doors and rear panels after a good wash). Hydro (and Wet Coat) are such good products for wheels especially cause the spray and rinse nature is so much easier than a full on wipe on and wipe off process. Just spritz on the wet wheel after a thorough clean, immediately blast off with pressure washer then I hit with my blower to dry immediately to keep from spotting. I just coated my wheels proper but I hope the Hydro keeps the coating alive for a long time

Well the last 2 Saturday's in a row I spent on Mustang wheel coating. First my Mach 1, then helped @cerbomark with his wheels last Saturday. So today was my daily driver's turn before the weather gets a lot colder... Spent the better part of the day cleaning and coating my Mazda's wheels (no polishing, car is driven to death ) Anyway, very happy with a day's work. Also cleaned the interior of both cars, did a quick clean of my Mach 1, the water beading on it's wheels is insane (Gyeon Q2 Rim) ...

I’ve been using hydro2 lite on my uncoated EcoBoost and it’s got great slickness.

@DFB5.0 I just saw an intro of P&S Defender. It’s advertised as a longer lasting SiO2 topper that has the gloss and slickness of Beadmaker but has more durability. Have you looked into or tried it?
