They should start with the Dark Horse to get the tremec MT and better cooling for Trans and Diff that you don’t get in the PP1 GT. It is still a lot of $ for what you get. $100k.

And when you go to sell it, the VIN comes back as a Mustang GT, not a Shelby like the GT500 and GT350, so you have an extremely narrow market of buyers who are willing to pay for a used Mustang GT that it's owner is going to be asking over $100k used for it.
Only exception is that it’s part of the Shelby registry. That CSM has value for some. As you said though, it’s a narrow market. But it is considered a “true” Shelby because of the CSM, whereas the GT350 and GT500 are not (they are Ford Performance vehicles technically with the Shelby name licensed).

Right, but when the bank runs the VIN, all they see is Mustang GT.

I was at the Shelby factory yesterday here in Las Vegas. There was a lot of cars being worked on in their shop, a lot! Usually end up being in there about once a year, this is probably the busiest I have ever seen it. Always hear their waiting list is one to two years long. After seeing the shop yesterday, I believe it. Guess some people think they are worth it. Hell, if I had the money, I would have one.

Fair point. I was viewing it more from the buyer’s/enthusiast side but you’re right. The bank and title will just show it as a GT. Insurance would be the same, you’d need to do a stated value policy otherwise you’d be vastly underinsured as just a GT.

This and the Saleen are the only S650s I've seen that I like the look of but once you see it you can't unsee it:
