Easiest way to move engine over for Header clearance

Been wanted to do this since I put my SW headers in. I don't feel like I have much clearance on the passenger side and want to shift the motor over a bit. Is it just a matter of unbolting the top motor mount bolts and prying it over or is it the lower motor mount bolts that have some adjustment?

You are going to loosen the 1 nut on top of each motor mount and pry it over to the driver's side. The motor mount is slotted to move side to side.

Check your clearance with the steering column. My pypes LTs have maybe 1/8" clearance there

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I have a question on this topic. Where/how do you pry the motor to move it over? My exhaust manifold is uncomfortably close to the AC line. When I was under the car I noticed the motor was 1/2" offset toward the passenger side. I would like to fix this myself if possible. Can it be done on jack stands or do I need to get the car on a hoist?

It can be done on jack stands, and you can bend the AC line by hand depending on which AC line you are talking about.

So after the mounts are loose then what? Pry the engine over? How is that done? The AC line is where it should be. The motor isn't.

You put a large flat board (2x10/2x12) underneath the the oil pan on a floor jack. Gently lift the engine up enough to take pressure off the mounts and pry it over. Bending the AC line is just easier. If you want to move tge engine in the cradle, I understand. It's just a decent amount of work.

Alright. Thank you. Looks like I may have a bad passenger side exhaust manifold. Maybe I will fix both at the same time.

Yep, just pry it over. I used a looooong screw driver and leveraged it against the frame and engine. I loosened the top nut on each motor mount and used the long screw driver to apply just enough pressure to get it where I wanted. Then retightened the top nut on each mount. You can do it with one person if you have a long enough pry tool to hold leverage, or you can ask a friend to help. I did it all on jackstands

Edit for addition: Do what HKusp said to lift the engine up a little before loosening the top nuts.
