well, I say the job has to get done.
I knew my wet grass comment would getcha, D and I hear ya, you gots to do what you gots to do.

Now that you've mounted the bayonet female to your very nice Adam's rolling stool, I have a question. Do you only use it this way when doing the wheels because you have to hook up the gun and nozzle after washing each to rinse the wheel? I ask because I don't see needing it when using the cannon to foam the vehicle as it all gets done at once or at least that's the case for me.

Active 2.0 incoming.
Since I am also looking at getting one Alex, I am most interested in your upgrade. And I'm with D on the 2.3 model, lots of negative reviews on the pump/motor combo.

As for the DI rig again, I agree with The Master. For another hundred bones you can get twice as many rinses with a DIC-20 and no problem on the flow. It will also give you twice as much use before having to change the resin. I have the cart version because the walls in my garage are completely covered or blocked by chidt leaving no room for a wall mounted pw and DI rig. <grin>

Mine doesn't have a bypass but since I use QD's for the pw, it takes all of ten seconds to put the DIC-20 in the the equation for the rinse. The bypass valve would make things a lot easier in a wall mount setup though.

Correct, just for wheel cleaning.

Yeah I'm lazy what can I say :) . My water is only 70 ish ppm so the small cans will last the entire season doing rinse only. And I alternate Rinseless in the equation quite a bit so the DI rig is only used about twice a month. Plus the smaller unit will mount on the end of my cart I plan on using and put the pressure washer on the bottom shelf of the cart. I will definitely let you know what I think of the active 2.0. I ordered a new hose too and a 4.0 orfice 40 degree nozzle too. My current 40 degree nozzle is a 3.0. Also will switch all my foam canons back to the 1.25 orfice from the 1.1...

The Ranger missed it's wash last week after lending it to a family member. Covered in road grime from a few rainy days, plaster dust and potting mix in the tray, muddy floor mats.................it's been a while since the Ranger has been this dirty.

The tires got scrubbed with P&S Undressed, I even scrubbed the visible section of the spare tyre, then the wheel and wheel arch foamed with Brake Buster. The ADS coating is doing a splendid job on these wheels, making them super easy to clean.

It was then onto the pre-soak, Gtechniq W4 Citrus Foam, the cold and overcast conditions meant a long dwell time was possible. I normally just hose out the tray, but today I foamed it down too, then went over the sides and rubber mat with the Detail Factory Fender Brush.

After a through rinse, I re-foamed with DIY Incredible Suds for the contact wash.

IMG-0676.jpg

Flowing the post wash rinse, I went over the tray, wheels and wheel arches with Carpro Hydr02 Lite. After a blow down, I followed with OG Drying Aid and the Microfiber Madness Chipmunk Jr. The engine bay, door jambs and tray were then wiped/dried with Carpro ECH20, glass wiped down with Stoner Invisible Glass.

After a vacuum, I went over the interior with P&S Swift. Instead of removing the floor mats, I simply vacuumed the loose debris and then soaked them down with Swift and scrubbed with a multi-purpose towel. Swift is so good on rubber floor mats, providing just enough "enhancement" without making them slippery.

Returning to the exterior, the wheels got a quick onceover with NV Boost v1, tyres re-dressed with OG Tire Dressing. Finally, I sprayed Meguiar's Hyper Dressing on the spare tire................yes, yes, I know.

Looks fantastic :). Even the spare LOL. Man I must admit you have converted me on the drying towels. I still love the gauntlet, but I ordered 2 each of the chipmunk and chipmunk Jr, I went edgeless version. They are fantastic towels, and the edgeless is a huge bonus. They ain't cheap but they are worth it... My second is the Gyeon Silk Dryer Evo. I wish they made them in smaller sizes...

Once again I went bananas on the quotes. <smile>

My water is only 70 ish ppm
I am SO envious, Alex..wow, that is some seriously mineral-free water or nearly so. MOF, that is about the hardness level I get from the large house softener and the DIC-20 combined. Count yourself very lucky to have such a super clean municipal supply.

Plus the smaller unit will mount on the end of my cart
OK, I wasn't sure if you meant to do the same thing as the cart in the photo and yep, you couldn't mount a DIC-20 on yours without having CG and other weight-related issues. Plus as you said, with that water quality, even the smaller amount of resin will last a long, long time. <smile>

Speaking of which, I washed Sarah yesterday for the first time in probably two months, no kidding. I hadn't driven her much and then got caught in a t-storm day before yesterday and she was pretty darn dirty.

When I rolled the DIC-20 out, I checked my blue tape date for the carts and it was FEB23 which took me by surprise. I haven't checked the ouput for hardness in a few months but the meter still shows zero. I'm thinking that I simply haven't used it as much as I did the previous couple sets of carts because the input water quality hasn't changed nor the dialed down pressure on the pw.

I plan on using and put the pressure washer on the bottom shelf of the cart.
No doubt you'll mount a hangar for an adequate length extension cord Alex and, make sure it's at least #12 cable if not #10.

Because I've been so busy, I haven't had the time to do a deep dive on the A2.0, does it also have a circuit breaker at the male end of the power cord?

If it does, I'm thinking you probably want to mount a single gang receptacle and exterior metal box to the cart as I wouldn't want the big, plastic chingasso breaker assembly connected to a standard extension cord and, on the ground where it could get wet. Finally all you'll need to do is cut off the female end of the extension cable and wire it as the supply feed to the receptacle.

I even scrubbed the visible section of the spare tyre
<smiling> I can always count on you for a morning grin, D and I love it when I see the Brittish spelling of "tyre" but, even my acute OCD doesn't tell me to scrub the hanging spare on the truck. :=) That said, if Sarah had such a visible spare, it would not only get scrubbed but it would also get a good coat of OG "tyre" dressing including the treads! <BIG grin>

I normally just hose out the tray
Ah yes, yet another "Down Under" werd, I LOVE them! <big ol' smile> Normally I don't have a clue to the meaning but this time, even my feeble brain was able to figure out that you probably meant the "bed" as we say in the US vernacular. <wink>

Swift is so good on rubber floor mats
I am confident that you have mentioned Swift previously but sadly, my recall failed again but you got my attention this time. I have tried a number of the products for vinyl and rubber on floor mats, (VRP, A303, Wolfgang's, etc.,) but not one of them to date has buffed out and not left that slippery residue. Actually, I should try OG's tire dressing on the Husky mats now that I think about it. Ever done that with mats, amigo?

But, I haven't tried Swift so of course, I ordered a pint..er, 500 mills <grin> and will report back.

I went edgeless version
A debate I have had with my brain and hands for a long time, Alex and honestly, I'm still not sure which I like more better. I tend to prefer edged towels when I have to wring them out while I think I prefer edgeless for buffing but I don't think I could go completely in one direction or the other.

I am lazy with the quotes, so here goes.

Yes I am blessed with 70PPM. Still leaves spots in the sun though so I definitely want filtered :)

I have a plug close enough to plug directly into the wall in my garage. Park the cart at the door and run the cord across the floor. No extension cords for me, don't trust them for that amperage. I have a spare 20 amp breaker in my box, I plan on eventually harnessing that bad boy and running a line around to the garage door dedicated for the PW.

As for the drying towels, the Chipmunk edgeless is indeed edgeless, but the edge is sewn under so there is definitely a thicker section at the edge you can use as a tactical guide... I love them :)

And for floor mat dressing, my favorite by far is KCx Gummifix. Amazing stuff, makes my weathertech mats look brand new quickly. Use it A LOT...

As for Swift, I love it for interiors. I used it on my Mazda yesterday, great stuff :)

I can confirm, yes it does have a circuit breaker on the end of a VERY LONG cord. I just got it today FedEx. Happy birthday to me. Man this thing is TINY, I love it :) Can't wait to give it a test drive soon. Probably Saturday morning, too damn hot now to use it. Mid nineties with 65 dew point. That is HOT for East TN, maybe not for some of you guys, but this fat boy is sweating :)

Happy birthday to me.
And another from me Alex. That is if you weren't joking. <grin>

Mid nineties with 65 dew point
Yep, worse here, amigo. It's 0820 here and the temp and dew point are: 85/79 with a heat index of 99. Just a wee bit muggier than up in 10-a-See. <smile>

yes it does have a circuit breaker on the end of a VERY LONG cord.
Figured it would and it looks just like the one on the Kranzle cable. No doubt a good idea although mine has never tripped nor has the breaker for that home run.

Looking at the photo of your cart simulation with the added unit and it looks like the plan is to keep the pw power cable coiled up on the cart and then just plug it into an extension cord? If that's the case, I would rethink it because those CB rigs on the end are designed to go directly into a receptacle.

This would be acceptable if your extension cord contains #12 cable or even #10. If not, you run the risk of tripping the pw breaker or worse, damaging the motor from low current. (Can't say what protection is built in though.)

OTOH, if the A2.0 power cord is long enough to connect to a garage receptacle (it almost certainly is for a standard home setup,) and still give you more than enough length and that's the plan, you're good to go assuming that your garage circuit is on a 20A breaker. If it's a 15A, you may have occasional trips.

Yes. Birthday next week LOL.

Definitely planning on plugging directly into the wall outlet. Cord is long enough. It's a 15 Amp circuit but I have an unused 20 Amp line that runs under the house to a plug by my crawl space door that was installed after the fact by the previous owner I plan on repurposing and making a dedicated PW outlet in the garage.

And I am rethinking the cart situation. I ordered a shelf to mount the pw on the wall right above where I hang my DI rig for storage. And the feed line from outside will reach thru the open garage door. Just plug in the quick disconnect to the DI rig and run the short line up to the pw. Only thing next is a hose reel. Work in progress for sure, I will use on the floor for a while I'm sure. Down the road I will tee off the outside water line under the house and run a hose bib inside the garage.

As for heat we were 93 yesterday with 75 dew point. Feels like temp was 105. Outrageous for the mountains of TN... Ugh. I'm ready for fall.

I like your thinking, Alex and having a hose bib there would simplify the process.

Roger on the unused 20A home run, definitely give the pw that circuit if you can.

This is actually two orders, one from both Waxit and Detailing Shed. With the exception of NV Onyx and OG Drying Aid, these are all new-to-me products. You will note most of these are soaps, in particular soaps with "protection" in them. Of those, I'm most eager to try Hydr02 Foam and Ethos Ceramic Shampoo.

Still a work in progress at the moment but I got my shelf delivered yesterday for my Active 2.0 and got it put up. Right now I am just using it for storage to keep it in a convenient place. But, down the road I plan on getting a hose reel and mounting very close by, adding a dedicated outlet beside it and having it mounted to the shelf... Again, work in progress, gotta wait for the dough to build back up a bit LOL...
