Has anybody has their windows tinted and if so did it help the heat?
Mine has a black top so not sure if that’s the cause.

Also did you have your front windshield tinted?

Yes, and yes. Helps tremendously with heat, especially if you get ceramic tint. Blocks incredible amounts of UV and heat transfer. Doesn't have to be dark either. Mine is really dark (Mustang is 5%, daily driver is 20%), but I usually prefer about 20%. As for windshield tint, my Mustang doesn't have it but my daily driver does(50%). Very helpful with heat and glare from headlights at night...

Yes, get the ceramic tint film. Makes a big difference. I do not have tint on my windshield but I do use a sun shade. A ceramic film would do better but I don’t feel the need to.

I have a windshield shield that helps a lot. But the seats get almost to hot to sit in them.

Thanks, will get it done.
Highly recommended. And even a "Legal" shade if its ceramic will block a lot of the heat.. And yes, the black top doesn't help :)

I am required to have a parking sticker on the front windshield. Not sure I can do a tint with that
I put my sticker over the tint when I lived in another state (inspection sticker), if its one that has to be removed and re applied regularly, that would be a sticking point. At the very least you can do a top brow.... Definitely something to think about.

Same here and I have to change my sticker annually. One of the biggest reasons front tint was a no-go for me

I’ve thought about doing just a strip at the top. Looks a little goofy to me though. I drove an S550 with just the strip on the front and it was throwing me off a bit from a visual standpoint as well.

Years ago, we used to have stickers to get in Stone Mountain Park and we would cover them in saran wrap and transfer them between cars

My is for a parking pass at the train station when I commute for work. We used to be able to put them in a sleeve and just lay it on the dash. At some point there was an issue with people sharing their passes with vehicles that weren’t registered to the account (you’re allowed 2 car per account) so they started cracking down and would no longer allow the sleeves on the dash. They must be affixed to the windshield.

I suppose I could find a sleeve that adheres to the windshield and just swap them out each year via the sleeve but they’re starting to make the film that goes over the adhesive cloudy so it’s harder to read 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Just having the sides and rear tinted has made a huge difference, no more hot steering wheel or shifter knob so I don’t really feel the need to tint the front at this point

It depends, if you’re parking your car in a parking lot with no shade at work on a 110 degree day, you’re kind of delaying the inevitable. For smaller durations , trips etc and less extreme weather it makes a big difference.

Personally I did it to help prevent UV damage to the interior. Use a well fitting sunshade as well.

I have 20% on the sides and back, and 70% on the front, all "nano" ceramic and as others have concurred, it helps tremendously. I will say the car still gets hot but it cools down quicker in the summer and stays cool with less effort from the A/C.

Glare and such are reduced as well, and I've noticed that passengers complain less about being "in the sun" in the car.
