Second this. When a powertrain is completely removed from a vehicle it’s very easy for even the best techs to miss a hose clamp or connection. Even after the vehicle is run and checked a lose clamp may not raise its ughly head. Not discounting the op’s issue, but …. happens and most times there isn’t any malice or intentional neglect intended. Even on my own stuff I work on if anything major is done its a hundred miles or so before I go run it at tilt. There’s a good reason track cars get shake down runs.
I've done tons of engine swaps and ALWAYS forget something when I'm done. I try to double/triple check things that would require major time/work to resolve. Like clutch or torque convt bolts/nuts.
I go over the top checking that stuff. Bolts on say an alternator, not so much.

Hopefully your tech had my same thinking. If it were mine, I'd have it on the lift, entire undertray would be off, and I would be checking every possible spot I could see.

Please dont drive it with just water in it. IDGAF what people are saying its ok. Distilled water is to get you down the road and to a place where you put actual coolant in it. Not for driving around for a few days. Our cars run naturally hot to begin with, thats why we have all these coolers. Not to mention you are in Georgia and its 100 degrees all week. 212 degrees comes quick in these conditions

Yeah I've definitely got real coolant in it now. I'm just driving it minimally until I bring it back into the dealer.

The radiator fluid discussion got the noodle wrapped around thermo kinetics of water vs ethylene glycol (EG).

As previously noted, track cars run just fine on water only in the cooling system. Same goes with water cooled shifter karts- EG is not what you want laid down on the track.

In fact, water has a lower heat capacity (HC) than EG and calculations of heat transfer takes HC into account. The lower the HC, the easier it is to 'give up' heat. So technically speaking, water only will transfer more heat to the radiator (though there is only a slight delta between water and EG's relatively high HC so the difference may be negligible depending on cooling system volume). The biggest limfac for cooling system efficiency is the amount of air (along with its density and temp) pushed through the system.

The EG is primarily there for sub freezing operations although it does also contain phosphates and silicates to protect the metals from corrosion. There are also known hazards of pH drop when DI/distilled water is exposed to air (sucks up CO2 and forms carbonic acid). Different discussion entirely.

Stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night and woke up with this vast knowledge on thermodynamics. YMMV.

Great mini write up. So in short, you'd agree. Don't run water

I wouldn't run water only in my 350 year around but I also wouldn't worry about having it in there for a few months. There are far greater hazards to the mighty steed on the freeway (read: dipshit texting drivers) than those posed by water in the cooling system.

Even 10o degree, Rush hour traffic days? You're bolder than I
