Aside from a CAI, my '20 is stock with just under 5k and she's four and a half years old so I guess I fit the description although I don't know your definition of "operate," Justin. Mine will certainly never see a road course. <smile>

But FTR, I'll be making the last car payment in a few months and I've never once thought about the monthly expenditure which, if memory serves, is about sixteen hundred bones. Maybe there's another category of owner? <BSEG>

What DOES rile me however is the damn car insurance and how much it has gone up! Hell, it's twice what we used to pay not that long ago and went up $1200 just this year! FM! It's ten g's a year for the 500, an '18 SD, and a '16 Cadillac CT6!

Frickin' highway robbery is what it is!
Wow buddy, you gotta switch.....

I use Grundy and have a guaranteed replacement value of $200,000 and pay $1,700 annually

Oof. Like others have side, should probably shop that KB. I assume your coordinates probably have something to do with that price but it still seems steep. Unless your homeowners policy is also included in that figure…

Oh I know there are some owners who just don't put miles on them for whatever reason. I was just making an assumption, however inaccurate it may be. It's just what my mind goes to by default.

My Dad has a 2016 Hellcat, purchased in 2015, that has maybe 4k miles on it. All of those miles came from about 3-4 road trips along the east coast. It has sat for over a year without moving multiple times at this point.

My mom and I always question what is the purpose of the car. He says it's his and he can do with it as he pleases. I never understood paying whatever he paid for it just to sit there.

He has 4 vehicles. He drives none of them for the most part and drives my mom's old 2001 Hyundai Accent stripper model

<smiling> Pretty sure I was going to get responses such as these and have been thinking seriously about leaving USAA for car insurance if not for the Full Monte. Problem is, we've been with them for frickin' forty-six years and until the last couple, they have always been competitive and of the few claims, (vehicle and homeowner's,) the service was always top notch. Therefive, we're sort of "velocitized" with the company, (bad I know,) but it is what it is.

So, my brother of whom I''m envious (@Jmeo,) says Grundy is the way to go. If you don't mind, would the rest of you who suggested I switch tell me who you use? And, most importantly to me, have you ever had to make a claim with your current provider?

Lawyers (no offense to any reading this,) can say whatever they want in a policy regarding coverage etc., and I ask because to me, it pretty much all comes down to the adjuster, the company policies, the shop they use for body repairs, and in the end, how happy you are with the outcome.

Based on what yn's have said, we are clearly paying too much, so we will definitely be switching and thanks for the info.

I use Encompass which is a subsidiary of Allstate. Knock on wood, I’ve never had to make a claim, top notch credit and also have my homeowners and umbrella with them. Been with them for over 20 years now. I shop it every year, they’re pretty much the best price out there for me. I’m also hesitant to switch because most carriers have switched their roof policy whereas they now look at depreciation when paying out roof damage. My policy still has 100% replacement cost new, no depreciation. There’s a few companies that are a few hundo a year cheaper but that’s more than offset by the roof coverage IMO. $500 deductible for both home and auto.

My GT and my wife’s SUV are $2k annual combined for reference. GT500 will have a higher replacement value so that will drive pricing up a bit too. Thought I’d also mention some of the home stuff as I always marry the two together to maximize discounts.

USAA does have a lot of nice bennies but that pricing is pretty crazy. Insurance is a racket in general but unfortunately it’s a necessary evil.

Many, many thanks, Mark and we too have always bundled homeowner's with car insurance for the same reason you mentioned. I'll have to see what our HO's will be when I tell USAA we're going elsewhere for the vehicles..odds are, it will go up some.

Roger on the varying costs in different regions and I know we're in a high cost area for both types of insurance but especially for HO's. Reason being, hurricanes. You probably know this but back in the early '70's here in Texas and, other states in "hurricane alley," the insurers got together and came up with a new outfit called, "Hail and Windstorm Insurance." Worst thing that's ever happened to insurance in my lifetime because H&WS has HUGE deductibles for which I have personal experience. Total ripoff when the depreciation is more than half the actual value.

I'm not familiar with Encompass but I'm thinking they may be part of the regional thing. I already have the better half checking with Grundy and I'll have her give Encompass a search, too.

Being in the commercial real estate business and having seen my fair share of H&WS policies, I agree pricing and deductibles are to the moon. Flood in FL is a real problem from a cost standpoint too. Probably just a matter of time before it hits coastal TX too.
