Mine is the same way. I don't know what it is.Do any of you guys have issues with your Universal Garage Opener? Mine seems extremely weak. I have to drive up about 1 foot away from my garage door to open it sometimes. This is pretty cumbersome.
I don't own your garage door opener, but I was looking at buying one a few months back and saw some reviews saying that you need this to make it work with newer cars: http://www.amazon.com/Liftmaster-85...19825794&sr=8-1&keywords=chamberlain+homelinkI can tell you from my own experience, that some of the new openers, use different frequencies that are not recognized by our cars. I have one of the new high end Chamberlain's. Our Subaru, Honda, Jeep and previous Ford F-150 cannot link up with this unit. We conferred with our dealerships and the folks who installed the opener on numerous occasions. The outfit who installed the Chamberlain opener finally gave us our money back after all of the service calls where they were not able to link the unit with our cars. We're now just using the associated remotes for the Chamberlain which are clipped to our sun visors. I can't imagine why some of the manufactures of the new openers chose to use different frequencies that aren't recognized by today's vehicles. I should've just kept my old Chain Drive Pilot garage door opener. We only changed it because it was started to get quite noisy. That unit linked up with no issues.
