I have always been a Mustang guy. I have owned 3 Mustangs GT's all of them being 2015 and newer, and I also had a 2008 Shelby GT 500. I now own a 2022 Mustang GT Premium. I crossed over to the dark side and purchased a 2018 2SS Camaro, Hot Wheels Edition brand new. That car was the best handling car that I have ever owned right from the factory. I did not need to put a single dime into it for any suspension upgrades.

Every Mustang I have owned, I needed to start upgrading the suspension to get it close to what I got with my Camaro from the factory. It kind of pisses me off that Ford couldn't give a better suspension right from the factory. Their PP1 package is kind of a joke, and it is $1,699 for MagneRide on top of the cost for the PP1 package, which you need first. Over all, I still like Mustangs the best but that 2SS could really handle. The Cost of my 2SS with MagneRide was $43,998 (loaded) back in 2018. Oh well, I love my new Mustang, just going to put a few bucks into the suspension again.

The only reason I am in a Mustang again was because dealer was playing games. Was going to go bare bones lt1 a10, they tried the bs that they were only alloted 3! They wanted as much for an lt1 as i paid for the Mach 1. They did the same thing we went to get a new Denali xl. They wanted 10k over sticker so I went out bought an expy max platinum.
I have bought prolly 12 cars from that dealer not including my wife's company purchasing trucks and vans from them.
I still have a few gm's
2006 Trailblazer SS 2wd high 11's
99 ls1 camaro 6 speed low 11s should be in 10s with bigger cam.
2002 silvy rcsb 4.8 with s475 turbo
Maybe I was lucky but my gm's were pretty much problem free. I also owned about 15 fox body's.

GM’s dealers are straight up trash. Full stop. Doesn’t matter if it’s service or sales, you’ll have a terrible time either way.

There are 2 good ones by me, one Chevy and one GMC. Both are smaller and family owned. Have had nothing but positive experiences and neither one of them charge ADM on anything.

The other larger GM dealers for the most part are just like any other dealer and care more about the sale than the customer unfortunately

Good ones are extremely few and far between, my friend. Even on the Camaro forum guys are passing up the free oil changes that come with the car when new because the dealers are so inept.

Ford dealerships aren't any better. I've had issues with them as well. I've had issues with Honda dealerships too. Oddly enough, never Toyota.

Guess I’m lucky as I’ve got a really great Ford dealer near me and another couple of pretty decent ones not too far away either.

Oh no doubt. My dad and I have both bought several cars over the years from the Chevy dealer I referenced. He just sold his Silverado this summer to get into his Mustang but still keeps in touch with the Chevy dealer in case he needs to scratch his Corvette itch. They’re the only Chevy dealer around here that I know of that refused to put an ADM on the C8’s. Most of the other GM dealerships are owned by big auto groups and I wouldn’t touch them with a 50’ pole.

After 30 yrs of buying new cars every 3 yrs the ONLY dealer that was stand up was the Lincoln my wifes Corsair came from. Going to drive 40 miles to see if they can fix my POS Mach 1.

The GM dealer in our town is far and away the best as far as service goes, you can bring them anything and they never try to pull any crap on you and when they say it's fixed, it is.

When I had my 2011 Camaro SS they did the rear end gears for me, and the techs there are car guys through and through, they were actually excited to do the work and when he came back from the drive to be sure all was good he was grinning from ear to ear, said "Man, that thing HOOKS!"

My mother was having the standard "Christmas lights in the dash issue with her Jeep (TIPM normally) I replaced the computer module twice and couldn't get it worked out, so I took it to the Jeep dealer. After about 5 minutes the Jeep tech comes out and says "It's TIPM, I'll need to keep it here for 7 days and it'll be 1400.00 and we will go from there."

I told him "I already swapped two new ones in, that isn't it." He comes back with "Are you a trained tech? That is where we will start and go from there."

I told him to pound sand and took it to the GM dealer, he checked it, came back out about 30 min later and says "it's an issue with the wiring harness behind the dash, I'll have to take the entire dash out and replace it so leave it here tonight and I'll have it ready in the morning, looking at about 800 bucks"

Next day she's running like new and it came in just a tick under 800 dollars. Will never own another Jeep again.

Would have bought another Camaro but the Mustang just looks so much better.

It's the people, not the brand they may represent. You can't really teach trouble shooting. It's a knack and by far most techs don't have it.

Like doctors, they just follow a series of memorized checklists that granted may lead to >90pct satisfaction. But it's really not any more advanced than call center operator reading from the day's script. 😄

On th bright side, it's not a POS Dark Horse. It's more expensive. 😲
