I just picked up my new to me GT last Friday. It has 255/40 19 pilots all the way around it so I just got 2, nitto 305/30 ZR19 555G2's for the rear and now that i am looking at them I'm not sure they will fit lol...anyone tried this? i searched the forum but didn't see anything.

What’s your wheel size? 255 are usually on a 9 so you can maybe go to 265 but that’s about it
305 usually need an 11” wide rim

275 max really. If you bought 305's you'll ideally want a 19x11 for the rear.

yes, you'll need aftermarket 11" rims to mount those 305s, they won't fit on 10s and definitely no way on stock 9" factory rims.

so my door tag says 255's up front and 275's in the rear but my car has 255's all the way around. Do PP1's actually come with 275/40 19's in the rear?

I ran 305 30 19 nto5rs on a 19x10 replica pp rim, worked fine. Was it a little to narrow? Yes. Did it work? Yes. Ran 2 sets on a procharged 15 gt. I wouldn't chance it on a stock wheel. I ordered pp replicas from American muscle at a decent price a few years ago and that way I kept my stock tires for road trips or if I got a flat ect

Thanks for the replies. They fit but the sidewall is smaller than I wanted so I have a set of 305\35's coming. I think I will order the replica 10's or change to the amr rims since they make an 11.

Looks like some one cheeped out and went with the same size all the way around.. My back wheels are wider than the front.. I have 255/40/19 on the front and 275/40/19 on the rear.. I have been wondering the same thing?? Can I go 265/35/19 front to 295/35/19's on the back?? IDK.. I will probably just stick with the stock size.. I know my manual has premium Pack Wheels and they are 19's but I don't know the width of the fronts or the Backs?? I do know they are at least an inch wider in the back, Just wondering what's the widest you can go on the Back?? I am good with the 255's on the fronts, but the ass end of this car needs a wider tire Definity.. I just bought this car so I am Not Buying New wheels and Tires yet.. My first upgrade will be the Steeda clutch assist spring and perch.. Next will be the Steeda shifter bracket, Trans mount insert.. I already ordered Syncro shift II for the transfer case.. Steeda also makes a shifter that is 1" shorter than stock but utilizes the stock housing, But without a lift it's hard to get under the car to put it in.. I need to find a good speed shop in South Jersey???

What are trying to accomplish?
Look or handling?
If it’s handling, it’s not the back of the car but rather the front that need wider tires

I guess a little of both, Yeah I want them to look nice but I want slightly wider up front and in the back. Thanks.. I was curious if I could do like a 265 front to 285 or 295 on the rear On The Stock wheels?

Going 10mm wider on stock wheels will work but will not improve handling
