Yeah, go with the E85 tune first, then decide if you need to spend the money and time on headers. E85 in conjunction with the tuning he will do for your transmission, will far outperform headers, and for a lot less money, all while keeping all of the OEM emissions stuff intact.Wengerd, thanks. I’ll look them up.
So you have the LTH high flow Headers and do not get cels?. I will install my LTH with the high flow cats next mo th. ThanksFirst - if you had a 17 that had checks showing not ready but no CEL, then the tune most likely had those sensors disabled. I doubt you'll find a tuner these days to do that anyway.
I have lth and high flow cats. The key is the "high flow cats" will need to be proper cats and not the cheap 200 cell cats that come with most catted headers. Some get away with the 300 cell kooks green cats - these cats are made by GESI and they make newer 400 cell cats. I have these (GESI gsport gen2 400cell) and have no CEL, no issues with any readiness checks (the tune you use must not disable any sensors - and shouldn't be these days anyway as mentioned).
Lot of others use defoulers/extenders on the O2 sensors but if you have visual emissions inspections(sounds like you may), those will not pass. If you don't have those visual inspections, go for it as the cheap effective option.
The proper cats will handle power and work but yes, they are $$$. Factor that into whether it's worth it for you.
I have GESI gsport gen2 (400 cell) cats and have no CEL. I had the standard 200 cell cats that came with my headers and got a CEL with those. So you have the LTH high flow Headers and do not get cels?. I will install my LTH with the high flow cats next mo th. Thanks
Mega bucks. I just can’t afford those. Wish I could.I have GESI gsport gen2 (400 cell) cats and have no CEL. I had the standard 200 cell cats that came with my headers and got a CEL with those.
i would like to know if this works. i worry that moving the cats so far downstream from their original position lends the exhaust temps to being out of range for the cats. i always got the same codes you got. it's just a theory of course, but a local shop also told me he just has no way to do exhaust mods and guarantee i/m readiness. those who do business in obd test areas are going to have to adjust the way they do business.i as well have lth with 200 cell cats, had cel . o2 sensore spacers stoped the cel, however now the o2 sensor and htr o2 sensor is " not ready" for emmisions. just ordered 400 cell cats which should solve the problem. Stainless works LTH with Stainless works Legen exhaust, h pipe with quad black tips, 2020 mustang gt.
