More nannies; its for our own good. You will eat plants and like it.
I'd like to teleport 200 years in the future. Assuming humanity is still here, I'll bet they laugh their asses off at our foolishness.

Hello; Read thru the story. A thing escapes me. That cows burp and emit methane is part of the story. That dairy and meat foods are part of the problem. Unless there are dairy cattle and meat cattle grazing in NYC I do not see the connection to NYC's emissions. Seems to me the cattle are already dead by the time they get into the city. Similar for the milk. The milk itself is shipped into the city but the cows themselves live somewhere outside the city. What did I miss?

Is it become that the proclamations from the nannies no longer have to make sense or be based in reality????

Yes, I should.
The trick is, it took me 30 years to quit smoking and it only happened after the right technology finally arrived.
I’ll quit THIS habit when the time is right.

I’ve always said that I’ll own my Mustang forever, but…..
Having recently seen some of the stuff that might be coming to market in the next few years, maybe that’s not the case anymore. Who knows when I might quit “smoking“ again?
So you admit you are like the world leaders, and elite, and greenies that bitch about others while having a larger carbon foot print than most.
The old, do as I say, not as I do. I believe those are called hypocrites .

Lol. I‘m not ”admitting” ANYTHING. I’m straight up telling you EXACTLY what I’m doing. An admission would suggest that I’m trying to hide something. Clearly I’m not doing that.

Please, do explain to me how my carbon footprint is above the average. This will be interesting.

I‘d also like to hear about the “do as I say not as I do” part. I don’t think you quite understand what’s going on here TBH. At no point has anyone said that you can’t do what I’m POSSIBLY doing re MAYBE hanging on to an ICE vehicle.

DAVID BLACKMON: There’s A Massive Obstacle Standing Between Global Elites And Their Green Energy Utopia (msn.com)

“California made a stunning decision last year — that by 2035 all new cars sold in the state must have at least 2½ times as much copper as conventional cars today. That’s not literally what the mandate said, of course, but it’s the practical effect of ordering all cars to be electric in the next 12 years. ‘Big Shovel’ will compete with ‘Big Oil’ as mining ramps up to supply the vast increase in a wide range of minerals that energy transition requires. But getting everything that will be needed will be tough.”

“Yergin notes in his very next paragraph that “An offshore wind project uses nine times the minerals of a natural-gas-fired power plant of the same generating capacity.”

“…applies to solar arrays, too. The presence of all those critical and rare earth minerals, some of which are highly toxic, is why, like EV lithium-ion batteries, they can’t just be tossed into the local landfill when their useful life expires.”

“Yergin points to the reality that it currently takes 15 to 20 years for a typical hard rock mining operation to progress from concept to first production in the western world.”

“…has actually gone backwards on domestic mining in recent months, revoking existing permits for the Twin Metals mine in Minnesota and refusing to issue permits for various proposed new mining operations for the very metals that are crucial to the energy transition.”

“Perhaps that’s because the energy policies being adopted in the U.S., Canada and Europe are placing the western world on a collision course with inevitable disaster.”

Hello; For me the information in the link is both old and new. Old in the sense there has been a general understanding about a shortage of rare minerals for some time now. New in that the author provides some real world numbers in what seems to be an authorative manner.

Folks like me have been put down because we question just how well this “Green”and EV agenda push is going to work. We are accused of not understanding about how a new age is coming and there is nothing we can do about it. The idealized view of a future with all zero emission vehicles and clean green energy is fine but it seems there is some sausage making aspects to the plan too often underestimated or simply just ignored.

Hello; I and others get how you hope to be seen on the forum. But our view of you is different and based on what you actually do. In most all instances in a discussion you do support the agendas and favor the "green energy" plus BEV agenda push including the despised mandates. You tell us we cannot change what is coming. You tout the positives of a BEV and argue with us when we point out real and soon to come issues from doing away with working energy and transport systems. We have post after post to back this view up. Then there is that you "like" and cheer on folks such as Gregs who is clearly a disturbed person. (have a look at his recent rants in the MATURE DISSCUSSION thread.)
Finally, it comes down to crunch time. Your family needs a new vehicle. After all the prior postings you have already or soon will buy a new ICE. From a practical view point I applaud that decision as it makes a lot of sense. You want an overall competent vehicle and the BEV's just do not measure up in too many ways. I get it. The BEV's are not a good replacement for essentially any ICE except in some very limited cases. That you are open with personal information regarding vehicles does not change anything, merely gives ammunition to your critics.

I think you are the main reason for it being locked, bravo.
