I don't understand why Greg24 even bothers with these threads where he has most of the participants on ignore then rants on about what he thinks the ignored say.

I suppose he might just like shutting up people he disagrees with.

Hello; Yes, to this. To participate in a thread and have maybe half the active posters on ignore must be the height of something. Need a name for it.

Well we see this going on all over the place. I don’t agree with your point of view, so I’m going to block you since I can’t debate without getting emotional. I block no one. I’ll ignore the dog shit out of someone but I will not block anyone.

Although Karl is considered the mechanical genius behind
the first automobile, his wife Bertha was instrumental in its
success. She invested her dowry to kickstart Benz & Co. in
1870. By 1886 Karl Benz had patented a vehicle powered
by a gasoline engine within Benz & Co., but it was not
selling. The general public simply were not convinced that

a car could be as reliable as a horse, especially for longdistance
travel. So, after leaving a letter for her husband,
Bertha Benz set off on a 104km / 65 mile trip with her two
sons, Richard and Eugen.

The irony!

Let’s do this….

I and others get how you hope to be seen on the forum.
I don’t honestly care how you view me, BUT, if you’re going to form an opinion, it may as well be based on facts, rather than assumptions.
But our view of you is different and based on what you actually do.
You have no idea what I actually do. It seems that some of you assume that I’m driving my car FAR more frequently than I actually do. You ignore that if I keep the car, I will likely transition the car to E85 (because it’s greener and I can pump up the boost on the Mustang) and then pay a carbon tax to offset the emissions it produces. But yeah, ok, cool story. You also ignore entirely that we save the planet from about 60kg’s of carbon dioxide emissions daily, courtesy of our solar panels. Meaning that unless we were burning about 30 litres of gasoline each day, we are already doing FAR better than carbon neutral as far as electricity and gasoline consumption goes.
In most all instances in a discussion you do support the agendas and favor the "green energy" plus BEV agenda push including the despised mandates.
I favour the mandates because half of you weren’t able to suffer the hardships of wearing a piece of cloth on your face during a pandemic. If you think those same people will buy a car to help other people, I have news for you. It wouldn’t even matter to some of them if they were cheaper, more reliable etc. They’d rather die on that hill than concede defeat.
You tell us we cannot change what is coming.
Because you can’t. If the US decides to ignore what the rest of the world is doing, you’ll soon find yourselves in a weird situation that you won’t like one little bit.
Been paying attention to Russia lately?
You tout the positives of a BEV and argue with us when we point out real and soon to come issues from doing away with working energy and transport systems.
Because the issues you point at are frivolous.
We have post after post to back this view up.
Yes, we know and it’s becoming a bit of a joke.
Then there is that you "like" and cheer on folks such as Gregs who is clearly a disturbed person. (have a look at his recent rants in the MATURE DISSCUSSION thread.)
Because Gregs is a pretty smart guy ?much smarter than me) who has clearly done his homework properly.
Finally, it comes down to crunch time. Your family needs a new vehicle. After all the prior postings you have already or soon will buy a new ICE. From a practical view point I applaud that decision as it makes a lot of sense. You want an overall competent vehicle and the BEV's just do not measure up in too many ways.
You weren’t paying attention when I explained why we didn’t buy an EV or hybrid. That’s quite obvious. It had ZERO to do with a EV or hybrid being inadequate on the basis of its motive power. It had EVERYTHING to do with the availability of an EV or hybrid in the configuration we need. It will come. Eventually.
I get it.
[/QUOTE”]
No, you don’t. Not in the least.
The BEV's are not a good replacement for essentially any ICE except in some very limited cases.
They are a perfectly adequate replacement in the vast majority of cases. It isn’t the vehicles fault that you haven’t installed the infrastructure that they might require.
That you are open with personal information regarding vehicles does not change anything, merely gives ammunition to your critics.
Again, because a car that doesn’t move, isn’t producing any CO2 emissions, and when it DOES move, I fully expect to be hit with whatever taxes are required to make its emissions disappear. But that the difference between us isn’tit? I’m happy to pay for the changes that are needed, while you guys seemingly aren’t. Hell, some of the people here don’t even think there’s a problem.

Let’s be real, one of the arguments you’ve put forward regarding EV’s is the working conditions of lithium miners.
Ever taken a moment to think about the human rights record of some of the OPEC nations? Have you at any point raised an objection to the import of oil to the US on the basis that the oil is coming from places that are committing these atrocities or is that level of outrage reserved purely for China and co? It’s almost as if some of the people here have been told what to think and then just parrot the talking points like good little foot soldiers in the culture wars.

Hello; This latest post of yours is a great example of what you do on this forum. Thank you for an epic pile response.
What you do offline is not known to us. Only what you write can we see and know. Again, thanks for a fairly decent summary in the above post.
You even threw in a dated bit from Covid to justify that you favor mandates. During Covid the mandates are now proven to have been for very poorly working masks and vaccines. An interesting choice on which to prop up "green" and BEV mandates.

That you praise Gregs is perhaps the funnier of the comments. How does the joke go? I wish I was as smart as he thinks he is, but not to be as smart as he actually is. Something like that.

I will combine two of your comments because of the irony. You criticize me and others on here saying we post "frivolous" issues regarding BEV's. Yet you use some of the very same frivolous points to justify why you just bought a new ICE. You talk the talk but, in the end, walk with us it seems. I still think you made the correct choice. A BEV does not fit my lifestyle also. Thanks again.

A piece of cloth that did nothing
Because Gregs is a pretty smart guy ?much smarter than me) who has clearly done his homework properly.
This is the funniest thing I have read in over a year. Greg is a spoiled brat who only wants to hear the same things as he believes. I'll bet he was a hall monitor in school.

Ford F-150 Lightning fire footage highlights a growing EV risk (msn.com)
Hello; Not exactly new information as we have discussed EV fires already. Lots of detailed information however.
I think smart Gregs has pointed out that ICE vehicles also catch fire. They do but can be more easily be extinguished. Easier by a lot. Also once a ICE fire is out it is likely out. BEV's can reignite as much as three weeks later.

Only briefly mentioned in the story is the use of foam for BEV fires. As i typed just now an ad played on TV. A call a lawyer ad about cancer from fire fighting foam.

There is a reason they don't allow lithium ion batteries on commercial (passenger) flights.
