Sounds like a squeal tab is hitting a rotor. Fairly loud squeal. Anyone else run into this with their new Mustang? I'm running the regular brakes.

I'm at 1700 miles, and it just did it me me 2 days ago. Cold, slightly wet, and slowing down from 15MPH to leave my neighborhood. SCREEEEEEEE.
Jeesus that was embarrasing. Hasn't done it since

It is normal. If you would like quiet brakes you can get a car that stops from 60-0 in 200 feet instead...

Brakes operate by using friction, which will always create noise. To make the brakes quieter you can bed them in by firmly applying the brakes while at highway speeds making sure not to come to a complete stop. If that doesn't work you can apply brake paste to the brake pad backing plates, however neither is a guarantee to eliminate noise.

If so, good luck getting them to admit something is wrong. They told me with a straight face its "normal".
Wow that is crazy! Mine were squeaking the first night but nowhere near that bad but it bothered me when I rolled the windows down. I'm up to 1700 miles now and no more squeak

It's normal for performance brakes. Do a hard stop from 60mph and it may quiet them down a bit, but it's not uncommon to make a little noise and a lot of brake dust. Every performance car and motorcycle I've owned has made noise like that from time to time.

Completely normal to experience a squeak like that, however, applying some copper grease to the backings of your brake pads may reduce it.

In Europe and other parts of the world, people actually prefer to hear their brakes squeak....so they know they are working lol

That is quite a bit louder than I was expecting though, so I can understand your frustration

+1

If your brakes don't squeal and your carbon clutch doesn't chatter you're not doing it right. haha...

Seriously, it usually means they're out of "operating" temperature. Does the squeal go away once the brakes are warmed up?

Normal pads have operating temp of around -30 to 350F, performance will have ~0 to 600-1,400, full race ~600 to 1,400-1,800

Mine only does it on cold mornings when leaving out for the first time. Once applied about three times it goes away.

When you say "performance" brakes, are you referring to the Brembo's? I can't imagine every 2015 Mustang with standard brakes squeal like that.

All performance brakes, not just brembos. They are high grade metallic pads and will make noise. No way around it when you drive easy around town. Go on the highway and do a high speed stop and it'll knock off some of the glaze.

Update: brakes FINALLY fixed. I complained to ford enough and they finally got involved. They made my dealership replace the brakes which cured the shrieking and other noises (chattering/clicking when hitting the pedal, and the humming and rubbing sounds). No unusual noises now and as a bonus, more stopping power than before.
