These are crazy light weights here. My 21 PP Premium car with Recaro seats , Whipple Gen 5, oversized HE, me (180lbs) and full tank was 4230lbs!! :( Still went 138mph on 93 in the 1/4 though but I can't imagine if I weighed 3500ish LBS!!!
What sixty and et did you run on that mph? How much power are you putting down at the tire?

That’s Corvette territory props. I knew a guy, who was an engineer. He had every single bolt nut and scree on his C5 replaced with titanium ones. He said he lost a total of 450lbs. I don’t know how much he spent doing that but that was eye opening.
45lbs maybe. You’re not losing 450lbs by swapping out to titanium fasteners. Period. Not to mention many areas of fastening would be much less reliability with titanium VS. Grade 8/10 hardware.

Well I tried this with my 2016 Z06. I replaced $1240 in bolts, around 280 fasteners from subframe bolts, to engine cover bolts etc. Lost a total of 7 lbs. I weighed each bolt that came off and its replacement. If the factory bolt had a leading nose, I reduced the replacement by 5mm. Added everything to a spreadsheet.

So far I have replaced a few on my 23GT for a total loss of 1.3 lbs. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have them leftover from my Z06.

My man you are a true animal. But that is what it means to be hard core. Not economical by any means but we're not in this game to save money, you know?

Wasn't it Shelby who dipped his race car bodies in acid to remove a few pounds and also drilled holes in the frame?

It would be nice to figure out a way to shave 400-500 pounds of weight from my car. Problem is, it would be super expensive to do, not to mention very unsafe for street duty afterward. However, it would surely fly down the 1/4 though.

The funny part is I did it in orders of 300ish dollars or so. Weighed the OEM and the titanium replacement. I was averaging about 1lb per $100 spent. The other benefit is they never rust or tarnish. Unfortunately, after the $1200 mark I decided to audit my own spreadsheet. I had created formulas to convert grams to ounces, then another to convert ounces to lbs. I wanted to input data in the lowest measurable figure so that my data wasn't skewed by the scale rounding up or down.

During my audit I discovered that during the process of adding and deleting rows, that the formula for converting grams to ounces was now the same formula as converting ounces to lbs. So I thought I had saved 12+ lbs for $1250, however, had only saved a little over 7. That's when the titanium bolt program ended.

This is the stuff that happens when you are trying to lighten a car constructed of carbon fiber composites and aluminum. The good news is the Mustang is basically all stamped steel so there are low hanging opportunities everywhere.

It's base model car, so that helps. Trunk is gutted, front Baers, Ecoboost rad, Slim fans, Light battery, all bias ply tires on 17's, kirkey driver seat. That's about it.
