This is where I was going with my initial response was going. Can Coat can be used as a coating topper, as in putting it over something like Gyeon Pure or Gyeon Mohs. From my perspective, if you already have a coating like that applied, that's a pretty substantial coating and adding something as strong as Can Coat is not needed, borderline excessive. So, you can do it, but you really don't need to.

Topping a coating can be done in three ways -

1/Apply a coating maintenance product every 4 - 6 months. Products like Carpro Reload, Gyeon Cure or Gtechniq C2v3 exist for this reason.

2/Use an Si02 type detailer as a drying aid after each wash. There are hundreds of these products now; Carpro EliXir, NV Boost, Meguiar's HC Detailer, Gyeon Ceramic Detailer, Obsessed Garage Drying Aid.......................................

3/ Do both of the above!

Looking into Cosmic Spritz, it can be used as standalone, ceramic topper or drying aid. Considering the cost of the product, you would have to a baller to use it as a drying aid! It also needs to cure for 12 hours, so plan accordingly.

If it were me, I would use either Can Coat or Cosmic Spritz as your base layer, then maintain it with any of the above.

You plan is sound, save for a couple of points -

I would eliminate IronX Snow Soap, NV Purify has an iron remover in it so you would be doubling up. Actually, you could look at this in two ways -

1/Because you are not polishing, perhaps consider not using the clay bar. In which case, use either of IronX Soap or Purify. I would favor Purify as its more concentrated and therefore effective.

2/Use the clay bar with Purify, but because you won't be polishing, take it easy. I would favor a clay towel/mitt/pad over a traditional clay bar in this case as well.

If you haven't already bought it, I would swap NV Clarity for Carpro Eraser. I find Clarity too grabby, where Eraser has a nicer feel to it.

Lustre topped with Jet is an awesome combination. As you say, maintain with Snow and Boost or Boost v2.

I don't really "dress" an interior much any more, just maintain them with something like InnerQD (fantastic product with a mild amount of UV protection and NO gloss). If you like applying a more substantial interior (plastic) dressing, try Koch Chemie Top Star or 303 Protectant.

For leather, look at NV Cleanse (cleaner) and NV Nourish. I don't like leather balms or creams, they look and feel greasy and do nothing for coated leather in cars. Nourish leaves a soft, natural matte finish with a very easy application. It also works on the Mustang's combination of coated leather and vinyl.

Purify > Snow+ > Descale > Eraser > Lustre > Jet

Purge/Onyx combo for tyres, Snow/Boost v2 combo for maintenance and InnerQD for interior.

Couple of favorites used there, I love using Gyeon Prep for the scent alone and Sonax Perfect Finish is pretty fantastic!

Yes I grabbed the Sonax and the Gyeon from you and the post you did where you got the 108 on the gloss meter for your Mustang. I wanted the McKees jeweling polish as well but apparently they discontinued it.

I really like the Maxshine. Again I think another one of your recommendations. All the areas that I can use it on the car really takes things to the next level. There are several areas that I would try to do by hand in the past but machine is the way to go. Getting the black trim on the bad and on the front clip for the Bullitt specific grill came out perfect. Also planning on doing some work on the wheels to polish them up.

Found one issue with the Polish Angel and wondering your thoughts. Went to first car show yesterday and seems that the coating is a magnet for dust. We do have some pollen still in the air for spring but I was disappointed at how my car over a couple of hours went from being pristine to dusty. Something that I have never really noticed and now may have to correct. I am going to monitor but others did not seem to have this issue as i make it a point to review those who's cars just look wet when they are sitting there.

I may very well try that. I am a big fan of Bead Maker and even bought the Dream Maker which I must say I had the same experience as you have had. Was not overly impressed as my expectations were high and I had decided that I would not use it anymore. In my research I was wondering if you had seen this video before. I have not tried this combo but I had noticed the same static issue with P&S but not to the same degree as the Polish Angel.



According to the video it has "anti-static" properties. I though maybe giving it one more show and playing around with how much I used as a drying agent when I was the car. Also thought about doing the combo and doing another vehicle using it with Beadmaker.

I use polish angel rapidwaxx as a maintenance spray and also once a year use the normal wax after a clay. That cured my static dust issues, but then I am not buffing in the final wax process and that's I think where a lot of static is generated.

Polish Angel has really changed my car maintenance life, I am spending about a half hour a month per car, and we are always getting people fussing over how they look brand new. But as I say, I'm not buffing, I'm just doing the Miyagi wipe on wipe off.

Some products naturally "attract" more dust than others. I do know that P&S Paint Gloss has anti-static properties which limits the dust attraction. You could give the car a final wipe down with Paint Gloss at the end of the wash and see how it goes.

I gave my other baby a quick wash (meguiars) this afternoon then a drive on the m1 to dry it, mop up with polish angel high gloss spray wax (3 mins, wipe on wipe off), anyway this is the result on a 7 year old car...though the clear coat is very good on these. But I think the Mustang clearcoat isnt quite as good, I havent been able to get the depth of shine on it.

Well I didn’t end up washing my car as the wife had it so I “practiced” on her car. Hah.
She has no coating on her car but I am pretty happy with the results. I picked up a cheap foam cannon thing for a normal hose and it’s as useless as I’d imagined. It’s no good at covering the car in foam but you could probably use it with a single bucket to spray the shampoo on the car as you wash and just use a rinse bucket for your was mitt/pad.
Anyways I ended up washing the car with Gyeon Bathe and then coated the car with Gyeon Wet Coat. I also purchased a Bigboi Buddy Jnr today so backed the car into the garage and dried the car off mostly using the air dryer. I then used the Gyeon Quick Detailer to finish off drying the car.
Not sure if I’m meant to use the Wet Coat and Quick Detailer or not? Does one cancel the other or do they both do the same thing? Took me about 2 hours all up and the car looked great on the light I had. Keen to see it in sunlight tomorrow.
