I have the base Audio system with SYNC (not MFT) and can't get SYNC Applink to work correctly. For example using Pandora or Sirius XM mobile apps on my phone I can start the app on my Phone and control play, stop, next song, as long as the app is already running.
But the Ford website says I should be able to start the apps, go to next station, and a lot of other things.

Furthermore when I use voice and say Mobile Apps it does not find any apps. Using the menu to search for apps does nothing. My phone is paired up and works fine. Using an HTC One. All Apps are up to date and I did a complete reset and un-pairing, re-pairing. The Applink seems to only do the basic items for whichever app you currently have open.

I searched this problem with Google and didn't find much info except one other person who has the exact same issue who posted it on the Ford SYNC forums. Maybe an update will fix it, but for now just wondering if SYNC Applink works with any supported apps...for anyone?
Thanks

As far as I remember APPLINK isn't supported for the Mustang yet. They say it's coming.

Applink doesn't work with MyFordTouch.

My buddy (username: stormtrooper) on here has the Pandora app on his base model and it works great.

Yes, in going to this web site http://support.ford.com/topics/sync-technology and checking through all the info it seems to imply that it is supported right now. I didn't see anything that said 'coming soon' so I went through all the settings trying to get it to work and cannot. Could be my phone but I doubt it. Or maybe you are right and an update will be coming.

It's not huge deal. The main thing I was hoping for was to be able to switch stations\channels on Pandora or Sirius without dangerous fumbling around on the phone itself while driving.

Cool, so he can switch channels or stations on Pandora via voice?
Do you know what kind of phone stormtrooper has? Mine is an HTC One about 1 year old. If someone else does actually have it working then maybe its something with my phone or I need to reset everything and try again.

Thanks,
BC

He has a Galaxy Note 3. I don't know if he can change it via voice but he can via the app. Pretty cool...

works fine for me....

Haven't used stupid voice commands for pandora, but you can definitely pause/skip songs. And it shows info.

We don't use AppLink though, that's just info streamed via AD2P (bluetooth audio.)

With AppLink, you can start the app on your phone, browse stations, do thumbs up/down etc. Pretty cool lol

My understanding is Applink is supported on the base radio, but is lost when upgrading to the premium radio.

if you are referring to the song tracks being controlled, voice control etc not working .. its usually due to a bluetooth issue. this happened to me, although i was using an iphone 6 ..the best thing to do is to reset your settings/preferences on your phone (not a factory reset though) as well has having your radio forget your phone. and re-sync and that should work. it has been a PTA for me but it seems to be working lately *knock on wood*

Thanks I will try resetting phone preferences and go through un-pairing again.
I don't really need anything except to be able to change stations without doing it on the phone itself, while driving. I'd rather use the steering wheel controls or the radio itself...not much interested in voice control.

If someone else has it working then I can assume it may be something wrong with my setup. In the steps below I never see 'Pandora' listed as an app because it can't find it.

From Ford SYNC website:

Manual controls for Pandora
To Start
1. Press Phone.
2. Browse to the "Mobile Applications" menu option and press OK.
3. Select "Pandora" and press OK.

To Control Pandora:
Press a radio or steering wheel control to perform any of the following actions:

Skip current track. Press Seek Forward (>>|)
Resume play of paused audio. Press Play/Pause (>/||) or OK
Thumbs Up current track. Press and hold Seek Forward (>>|)
Pause audio. Press Play/Pause (>/||) or OK
Thumbs Down current track. Press and hold See Backward (|<<)
Play station assigned to a preset. Press Preset
