Just curious if anyone has had issues while installing lowering springs, I got the sp081 which is supposed to be a 1.2 in drop in the front. Once I got it back on the ground it only dropped about a quarter of an inch. I know the springs will settle , but pretty sure they will not settle 1in. Do any of the bushings need to be loosened while it is under load, could that be keeping it raised? Anyone had any issues like this when doing lowering springs, anything I should check in particular?

Same thing happened to me when I installed the Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs. These are meant to drop around 1” all around. Started at 28” from floor to top of front wheel well and 28.25” in the rear. Immediately after install I only dropped to 27.75” in the front and the rear stayed the same. After a week I dropped to 27.25” in the front and 27.75” in the rear. Gonna remeasure next week and see where it’s at. Takes some time but it’ll settle.

Thanks! I knew the rear had to be under load before tightening everything but the instructions didn’t say anything about the front. I am going to try this.

It literally took me 8 hours for one side on the front, it was so frustrating with the loaner tool spring compressor from the parts store. The bmr springs only allow to grab 2 coils on one side and one has to be flipped upside down cause the strut gets in the way of the bolt on the compressor. When I finally got it all done and seen it essentially didn’t drop, my soul left.

Thanks, instructions don’t mention this except for the rear, feel like they need to include this in the instructions. Even all the install videos seem to not clock those bushings on the front.

I hear ya. Same for me with the rented compressor tool. Felt sketchy AF but managed to make it work. Second side went much faster/easier but I agree, it was rather depressing when I measured after dropping the car and not seeing much of a drop. I did some research and saw that it’ll take some time to settle. I “helped” it along by going for a few spirited drives and some higher G turns. 😂

There are fewer to clock on the front, as few as zero depending on your specific car, so verify with the diagram

Also, if you have a performance pack car, the bonded front sway bar will resist lowering a little without adjustable endlinks

OK, I know this was on the rear, but after having some suspension work done and the car settling for approx three months, I finally decided to clock the toe link outer bushings.

It really surprised me …

Using the arch to the line in the tyre moulding, I dropped 5mm from the right side :

And 6mm from the left :

Remember, this is just from one bushing :like:
