Am I right?
True story!! Glad I drive a mile across the street to get to work every day so it doesn’t burn much and rest gets burnt doing a few spirited drives here and there.Having to fill up every 100 miles really sucked. The mustang is bad enough on gas with the tiny tank.
A good fuel system will alleviate SOME of that If I mind my manners, I can get the better part of 150-175 miles out of a tank, but I'm not scared to run it very low because of my fuel setup. But yeah, it does make planning more intensive.Having to fill up every 100 miles really sucked. The mustang is bad enough on gas with the tiny tank.
Your doing more harm to the engine like this. Constant short trips are a killer.Glad I drive a mile across the street to get to work every day
I only have 2 stations whithin a reasonable distance with E85, so yea, planning was high on the list. Just wasn't worth the hassle for me. If it was a weekend play toy I'd leave it on E. With a good flex tune I'm not scared to fill with E on half a tank and go play.it does make planning more intensive.
I usually find longer routes to take home 1. Because I’ve been told exactly what you said 2. I didn’t spend all this money to not drive the hell out of it.Your doing more harm to the engine like this. Constant short trips are a killer.
OP: I wouldn't worry about the Brenspeed engine.
This 2618 v 4032 "debate" is just plain moot. Much of it is marketing.you will be very Annoyed with this engine for the short period of time that it's good for. its going to sound like a diesel on start up because of the pistons rattling in the bore. that rattle is damaging the cylinders. 2618 pistons are not for engines that you want to put over 30,000 miles. they wear out pretty fast but they are strong. much stronger then you need If you're looking to make 1800 hp or more than absolutely go for the 2618 anything less 4032 is your friend. 4032 Can handle pretty much everything you're gonna throw at it in a street car. It has tight cylinder wall clearances it doesn't expand much. it doesn't rattle on start up. it doesn't where out the cylinders and it last longer
street engines running 2618 sounding like a diesel and only lasting 20,000 miles. sureThis 2618 v 4032 "debate" is just plain moot. Much of it is marketing.
4032 pistons are cheaper. Why? The forgings are the same price and they cost more to make. The thermal expansion argument was absolutely valid....in 1986. But we were pretty stupid in 1986. The piston to wall clearance is a matter of application and skirt design. In any use where you can destroy a 4032 piston, you can destroy a 2618 piston.
The world is chock full of race engines using 4032 and street cars using 2618.
this is from mahle you can see the ptw clearance difference between m142p (4032) and 2618. it's not moot install a 2618 piston with .0006-.0014 clearance and see what happensThis 2618 v 4032 "debate" is just plain moot. Much of it is marketing.

Again, we going back 40 years?street engines running 2618 sounding like a diesel and only lasting 20,000 miles. sure
