I will say if the intercooler just upgraded on any ecoboost it will yield better power throughout as it can cool better.

any ecoboost owner can benefit, I mean assuming you wot often. Few hundred bucks, it’s just about the only mod I can say is worth it.

Comes down to the sound, if you think you want v8 noise get the v8. I’m the opposite, I like a quieter sound, I am a sportbike rider, and I like sounds of a nice running 4 cylinder. It’s a clean subtle sound, not talking fart cans
You must be older, like me. I got a GT but the stock exhaust is more than loud enough for me. Yet, almost every GT I see on the road (yes, even almost new ones) have had their exhaust replaced with the very loud, raspy sounding systems. It's annoying and you hear them easily 1/2 mile away when they throttle up. I guess they're like the guys who have a subwoofer in their cars cranked up so they rattle windows of homes they pass (not to mention their license plates, etc.)

she nailed it in the end, 3 stars, just because people are going to comment "ew why did you get a 4 cylinder instead of v8" if this is something that bothers you, then get v8. me I couldn't give a shitttt what others think.

mine looked nice, drove nice, fully loaded premium had oomph good mpg and a banging sound system. I did have a friend who was the opposite, he got the a base gt, with no options and tossed the loudest exhaust he could and go fast mods, and he was in heaven.

diff folks diff strokes. he and I got to places at the same time, his music was exhaust, mine was actual music. everyone is happy!

but he did pay more in insurance, but he was also younger than me.
Amazing what age does. My full coverage (very high liability due to my $1 million umbrella policy in homeowners) is about $206 every 6 months. Interestingly, my 2012 Fit Sport with the exact same coverage costs $5 more. Huh? Guess the GT must be rated better for safety or something considering the Fit is 8 years older.

Actually this is not true. The original Mustang was a nice little personal sports coupe. My wife had one with the inline 6 and it was a nice car but certainly no muscle car. My best friend had a 65' with the 289 and, it too was no speedster. It wasn't until the real muscle cars (GTO, 442, Chevelle SS, Fairlane GT, Road Runner, etc.) became a major hit did the big three start stuffing big V8's into their Pony cars.

Don't get me wrong. I love my GT/CS and the Coyote. I'm old school, as in FE, old. But to believe that all Mustangs just have a V8 to be considered a "true" Mustang is just wrong.
True. The first '65 models had a 200 CID 6 cylinder single-barrel carb as a base engine and the early ones only offered the 260 CID V8 2-barrel. The 289 came a little later. Then they offered the 289 HP engine. I think it was '67 or '68 when they offered the 302-2V as an option. All those early years came with a 6 cylinder base engine.

Me personally I'm takin the one that doesn't have to worry about a Camry or Accord in the next lane 🤣
I don't think the EB guys have to worry about that at all. None of those cars will beat it, even the Accord 2.0 turbo 10-speed auto won't.

yeah, the EB cars are properly quick. honestly if they came with GT brakes and could go faster than 110 i'd seriously consider a base one.

is this true? for some reason I dont believe it can only go 110 mph. idk I dont speed. never tried

thats crazy. there is a chip that caps 115 on a regular non tuned ecoboost.

so high performance ecoboost has it at 155mph limit, and I bet ford performance tune does as well. but a stock non tuned EB is capped 115

How are you guys saying eb gets worst mpg than a gt in any answer and keeping straight face!!’ You just said 5:6 gear on highway.
They should all get 32+mpg. On 87 shit none the less.

Op chose gt and that’s awesome, but I’m concerned about those spouting incorrect info stating eb gets worst mpg.

thsts just wrong
Ford offered the V8 and EB versions each with a variety of options. Clearly, it was a win-win for Ford because none of the variants are selling poorly. So, obviously they've catered to the desires of the general Mustang buying public quite well. Whatever they got, they still got a Mustang. That makes Ford happy (and the buyers for whatever they decided to get). Case closed.

(Disclaimer: Didn't read the entire thread, just providing my 2 cents - not trying to start a war lol)

Coming from a 101a '20 HPP less handling pack to a 301a '22 GT less PP (both manual) was a bit of a change. I wish I could afford a GT PP as base steering feel is just non-existent, sloppy/bump-steers, and oddly has a small amount of play. The HPP and the FiST were pretty stiff and crisp in steering feel, I'm certain the GT PP is the same or at least similar. I liked the EB as it was quite fun and engaging as a daily (except for 3rd being a bit notchy), probably would've kept it if I had that grabber lime press car (insert chef's kiss).

The GT as a city daily is...meh? It's fun when you can push it, but (*IMO*) pretty boring as a daily stuck in city traffic. Like said - it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.

Maintenance wise, the HPP takes ~6 qts of 5w-50. The GT PP takes ~11-13 qts of 5w-20/30 I believe. 2.3's seem a bit fragile at times - I never had any issues with mine in the 7500 miles of ownership. Head gaskets are pretty common on higher mileage Mustangs though. Haven't seen too many 5.0 Mustangs in for engine issues. Also, don't bother with the heated/vented seats as the seat backs are designed horribly for cooling.

Fuel economy for the manuals doesn't differentiate too much - I got around 18-21 city with the EB and 16-18 with the GT, highway was about the same at 24-26 cruising at 75-80 mph.

Both are fun though, I'd recommend trying to test drive each and see which one you'll like. I'd avoid going for a non-PP Mustang though, the sporty feel just isn't there (one of the reasons I'm looking at trading back down to a Focus ST).
I hope you're not putting 11-13 qts. of oil into the Coyote. It's spec limit is 10 qts. with filter. If a shop is charging you that for an oil change, they're ripping you off anything over 10 qts.

I don't have a lot to compare to but I did buy a 2020 HPP in January of 2021 for 37k OTD. It is as loaded as it could be I guess, 201a, HP with Magneride, Active Exhaust, B&O, safe/smart system. Quickly converted it to an RTR spec2 along with FBO's and NX2 turbo, e30/91 tuned by Ryan/PD. A couple steeda suspension mods like IRS alignment dowels, IRS braces and Gtrac ultralight front brace, oh and FP Magneride Springs. Believe it not the car gets better city MPG's with the NX2 then with the stock FP turbo which was very quick to be in boost. I'll say the car is quick and fast but definitely lacks the beautiful Coyote v8 orchestra. HP is like guns and ammo, you can never have enough!

Do you have a link to the turbo you got? I absolutely love the setup

Thanks a lot man, I have a '22 HPP coming on order soon so I'm preparing all the mods I want to do. I had a '20 HPP that I kept bone stock so I'm excited to go all out for the new one.

Yeah unfortunately we here about and see this more than we'd like, but I was stoked to get the NX2 for what I did!
