Talk about propaganda.

Up until the election the pipe mills were spitting out P110 like popcorn.

For you who don't know that is the pipe grade used for fracking.

It’s not propaganda it’s timing. Before the election there was little to no demand. The problem started after demand started going up and production cannot keep up. We would be in the same situation regardless of who won.

Keep telling yourself that.

Hello; Keep in mind ethanol is made from corn for the large part. The way I understand the equipment for making booze (ethyl alcohol) (distilled spirits) was already in place. The making of corn whisky has been going on for centuries and the equipment was known. No need to invent new equipment.
The corn mash left over after the alcohol vapor is driven off by heat has uses. If memory serves it can be added to animal feed.

I do not know if the ratio of alcohol fuel produced compared to the amount of fossil fuel used to produce the alcohol is the same now as it was decades ago when this ethanol fuel was first added to our gasoline. Back early in the process the net gain of fuel was small. In other words, if the goal is to stretch our fuel supply with the ethanol alcohol such was not very efficient. That is not the important thing about ethanol fuel by my thinking.

Corn is food is the important part of this story. Take more food out of an already tight food supply chain and you get more hunger. Additional hunger and higher food costs was known back when the switch to corn ethanol fuel started years ago. That dynamic has not changed. Turning a food crop into fuel equals to less food for people to eat.
That there is an industry to turn food crops into drinking alcohol is a different story in some ways. Personally, that does not affect me. I do not drink hard liquor nor wine. I do drink beer. I will sometimes drink a beer. I buy a case of beer that usually last me around a year. I like a cold beer some evenings in the hot weather. I do not drink any in cold weather. I could get by fine if booze went away.

Do the math.
2021 total gasoline consumption = 135 billion gallons.
2022 Ethanol blending requirements 15 billion gallons
If 25 billion gallons are ethanol free (low) that means gas must be at least be 13.6% to meet mandates.

It’s a very government way to get the same goal. They are not mandating 15% ethanol while mandating the amount of ethanol that requires 15% blending. Regardless the reality is they are mandating 15% ethanol.
OK, I get it. I’ve never been for forced ethanol use. But this issue, right this minute, is not effecting refining capacity or the price of gas at the pump.

Face it, politicians are only concerned about getting re-elected, period. We, the lemmings, pick a side and follow these idiots. In doing so we close our eyes to the real reasons for any given situation. They win, we lose. Wash, rinse, repeat.

While electrification might eventually become a true force in the market, for now it’s more of a novelty or plaything for those who can afford it in every sense of the word. A key example comes via Ford’s Mach-E, the so-called Mustang crossover. That EV has made the Blue Oval exactly zero in profits, despite many in the media praising it almost nonstop.

Meanwhile Ferrari is bringing a V12 SUV to market

There is no stopping it.
I think it will stop itself. Once people realize electricity is generated and not just there when you plug in or flip a switch.

When enough of the country has rolling black outs on hot summer days and when your choice is to pay the electric bill or buy food..........

I see electric rates topping 1 dollar a Kwh before too long if we stay on the current path.

If we can make fusion work it might save us from ourselves.

I agree man.

Electric rates are ALREADY going up. What happens when you have tons and tons of people plugging in their toaster, I mean, EV vehicles in at the same time?!?!!? LOL

It’s going to be a long time before we see tons and tons of people buying EV’s so no sense in worrying about it now.

But on a brighter note 93 was down $0.10 a gallon from just a few days ago at Costco.
