It’s going to be a long time before we see tons and tons of people buying EV’s so no sense in worrying about it now.
Thank God!
I'm not really too worried about it to be honest, as I'm not interested in buying an EV ever. As long as I can afford to pay for gas, I'm sticking with my ICE vehicles.

Gas prices are starting to drop again. Let's hope this trend continues!

I some how still have not paid over $5 a gallon yet, and I'm in an area where gas is pretty high. It's looking like $5.39 next time. It dropped 6 cents since yesterday, it was $5.45.

That’s a 2c charge. For a 100 kWh battery that means charging at 300 amps @ 400 volts. Look up the wire size for 300 amps.

And for scaling, 8 chargers would require a 200,000 watt service. To charge 40 cars in an hour would require its own substation.

This stuff is just not realistic.
What you say is 'not realistic' is in use already. If you read what I said, charging for 10 or 15 minutes every 2 or 3 hours of driving is NOT charging from empty to full. That is why I explained that habits need to change for EV's. Not better or worse just different. You can put on around 170 miles in range in 15 minutes or so, 3 hours of driving on the motorway - perfectly reasonable

Tesla superchargers can charge at up to around 300A so not sure what your point is there ????

It takes very little effort to find this stuff out, Tesla supercharger stations have been around for a long time now so the charge rates and the supply requirements for multicharger stations are well understood by those that install them

Well, apparently not by me........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent over an hour trying to figure out how this new magic works... I was pretty excited when I pulled up and there were plenty of available chargers. Never did figure it out.

Except those 170 estimated miles are more like 100 in real life. And if you find all charging stations already in use (which you certainly will if everybody has an EV) and four other cars waiting in line, those 15 minutes will easily turn into hours. Besides, 170 miles isn't three hours on a motorway. It's more like two.
What's in use already may work for a handful of hipsters and eco-loonies, but it's far from enough if you want to put everybody in EVs.

Anyway, now that we're 37 pages into the topic, do we know the answer yet? Are gas prices dropping soon?

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
^ You are more than a dollar a gallon cheaper than here in Chicagoland. I wouldn’t complain
