Greets All,

I spoke to my carbon fiber guy and we discussed about making it to OEM specs and he agreed it will be capable to 175mph and to withstand 450 pounds of downforce, pricing will be $3800 + shipping, The brackets will also be made of carbon fiber initially, but that could change if the interest is there to aluminium. The shipping hasn't been decided yet as to if he will package up the wings and send them out or if I will, that will be determined after seeing if there is enough people interested first. So I am going to talk to the guy after Memorial Day and let him know.

I already have a loaner wing for this to be done, according to my guy it will be 60 days for the prototype to be created and compared and tested, after which production will begin. I will firm up a timeline as soon as I see if there is an interest

At this time this will not be mass production but a small batch, what that number is I dont know yet, which is why I am looking to see if this will be worth the time and effort.

I told my guy that I will let him know as soon as I hear back from everyone, which that day will be June 3rd.

***EDIT***

Questions for my guy on 6/3 will be posted here as this thread continues:

1) Can the wing be made in forged carbon fiber.
2) If the uprights can be made out of Aluminium.
3) Making 2 sizes (current 4" & Multimatic 8") uprights. (This was discussed and in short, Yes)

Im in at $3800 shipped out the door. Closer to $3k would be preferable. I already cancelled my AC order and I was thinking of making my own wing just to have a designated decoy. But hey, if it can go 180 and withstand 550# of downforce (as per OEM spec), I'd give it a whirl.

Edit: Will this have a foam core or hollow like AC?

If I can get 6+ people (Currently I have 3 including Tom) the price can drop to 3-3200, but under 6, 3800 would it the point. As I said I spoke with him about the specs that it had to do 175+ and 450 pounds of downforce and he said it would be oem specs. As for it it will have a foam core or a hollow core, this wasn't discussed, but can be when we speak on 6/3 depending on where we are at.

Tom I dont know this so I have to rely on you or whoever else, do we know for sure that the OEM wing indeed has a foam core or is this speculation? I dont know what to tell my guy something that may or may not exist.

***To Everyone else***

If there are questions please feel free to ask so I can have them answered on 6/3 if this all goes through. I have already been asked to see if the wing can be made in forged carbon-fiber, so we have our first question. All questions will be added to the main post to keep track.

If we do proceed on 6/3:

I am reaching out here on this post to @toothdkdr, if you are still in the market for the wing, I will reserve the 1st one for you, as you and I have talked for awhile about this and you getting shafted so many times I feel you should be offered the first one, if this does happen and you do want it please let me know. If you do not, then its first come first serve.

I think anyone who ordered the AC wing got shafted. What a mess with still no end in sight. I cut and ran based upon experience.

I believe the OEM wing is hollow and of similar construction to that of the AC wing. It's a Chinese manufactured wing. We would know more about various construction aspects of the AC wing, but the one was cut in half and ordered back to AC before it could be further dissected.

Keep it in the 3k range and it would be a home run.

I"d be interested if I could get it with taller struts, to clear the rear window!!!

Yes, a very good point. Make them in two heights, multumatic and OEM.

Just a bit more info about this. I’ve been trying to work this angle ever since the fiasco with AC started. My original plan was to hook up Terrance at Sig with a wing but the logistics proved to be a bit too much for his workload so The OP reached out to me when I mentioned I had someone with an OEM wing willing to lend it for scanning and reproduction. It just so happened OP lives just down the road from the donator of said wing.
Fast forward to this message: I brought it up to OP when we got this ball rolling that some folks would be interested in the mutltimatic uprights. I’m also the one hoping to get a forged-look wing.
Anyways, looks like we have a few days to get more info but it’s fair to say that there will need to be some significant interest in this to get anything more than a carbon copy of the CFTP wing.

I don't need a wing but I definitely will buy reproduction Multimatic uprights. Such BS that you cant buy them on the open market. Middle finger to whoever f'd that up for the rest of us with Multimatic .

I am going out on a limb and say it will be hollow as well, unless we are absolutely sure there is foam inside.

I am working on keeping it in that range, honestly if I can get 6+ 3K would be the price point.

The two heights sizes has been discussed, we are going to look into this up to 8 inches in height (Which I believe the multimatic is this height). As well as the uprights being made in Aluminium as I said has been discussed, right now unless something changes we are looking to get the wing and the current size done then we can work on autocadding taller brackets.

Just putting it out there I need a serious committed head count by 6/3 so I know if this will come to fruition.

You could sell the multimatic replica uprights all day long and twice on Sunday if you ask me.

I'd start an interest thread on that one and you will find interest.

Then it will be a two piece wing bonded together then.
