This is interesting. Is there any other change beside that? Is the brake rotor a supersession for the old part?
From what I understand, yes. Having said that, I'd be very careful when ordering to be certain to get the discs with the venting on the correct side, because there must be a massive amount of NOS with the reverse brake bell.

that's not failure - ie fluid integrity compromise aka seals letting fluid past the piston. you simply boiled your brakes and in so doing got giant air (well water vapor) bubbles in your lines such that hydralic pressure was no longer being applied correctly.

NEVER go to track with factory fluid. NEVER go to the track without FRESH fluid.

The 'revised' 14" look otherwise identical to their previous counterparts except for the obvious.
WTF was Ford smoking that it took 7 FREAKING YEARS to pull their head out of their ass?
Exactly. Fluid fade is not a master cylinder failure. Change the master all you want, it won't fix that problem.

I don't know the particulars about the present Ford brake fluid, but the old Ford Heavy Duty brake fluid used to be some of the best stuff you could get in terms of temperature resistance. As long as it was fresh, it was only 10 or 20 degrees off of the stuff from AP. Castrol SRF has long been the king of high-temp brake fluid, but for the price, it should be. The 'easy' button is the PFC stuff. The newer brake fluids not only have temperature resistance to deal with, but they tend to be very thin to provide better response characteristics to the ABS system. The PFC stuff is specifically made for ABS, but I don't think that SRF is.

I was painting with a broad brush, admittedly. I was implying factory fill was likely el-cheapo Dot3 which may not be the case with Mustang.
