Sorry, have no idea who that is.
He used to write for jalopnik then got big with his YouTube car reviews which he then leveraged into his version of BaT. Kinda like Chris Harris (Top Gear, The Drive) is doing with his new venture “collecting cars”

hope all is well out west, my friend!

Gotcha, thanks for the info. It’s hard to keep up with all the youtubers. Doing well, hope all is well there.

Anyone else find it funny that Ford makes these epic cars, and at the time they are being made there's barely any interest in paying above MSRP. Suddenly later on people realize they were good the whole time and values skyrocket seemingly overnight. 05-06 Ford GT comes to mind as another recent example.
From my perspective they were always appreciated. They were going for over MSRP for most of the time they were being sold new. I think mid 2020 to the end of 2020 was the only time you could really buy a good condition low miles GT350 or GT350R for less than MSRP.

As said below, YouTube car reviews. I actually really enjoy watching his reviews.
If you really want entertainment, find his videos about his CarMax warranty on his land Rover. Quite hysterical.

Interesting, indeed. My concern with the market right now is world conflict, and the announcement Ford made concerning ICE and EVs this week.

I can’t think that BaT is just that much better exposure, but it may be. I never heard of CaB till this auction. My builder has a BaT sticker on his Expedition, so BaT is more noticed.
How do you think Fords announcement will impact the market?

My concern is continued production of high-performance ICEs into the next-gen Mustang that may have some exclusivity like the GT350. The announcement mentions “profitability” so that like means no Voodoo-like stuff but it gives me some concerns.

And then there’s this….
Mostly right. They are asking dealers to specialize. I don't think Ford really wants to completely cut dealers out of the EV business. They want the dealers to agree to deliver customer orders online without any fuckery. If you want to go into a dealer and buy a EV you'll be able to do that. If you want to spec a car online and wait you can do that too. I think they want the option of selling direct to hold over the dealer's heads so they'll sign the agreement they want. Probably something along the lines of no more ADM. No more required packages. No more insane doc fees. There should be no surprises anymore.

Could be true. And the dealers might want something from Ford in return. Maybe buying back or chipping in on cars that the dealer can't sell at MSRP.
