I am placing my order for a Mustang GT 6 speed in the next month and wanted to see if there are any must order items other than the performance pack for a supercharged mustang?

Will be ordering the 3.0 Whipple at the same time.

this is similar to my setup on the '19 Bullitt I owned. The '18 up Mustang GTs have the long gear ratios. When I drag raced the Bullitt, after several 1/4 mile runs my clutch started slipping. Fine for any racing on summer tires, but slicks or drag radials will take their toll on the clutch.

If you’re placing your order for a Mustang to be supercharged - go check out Lebanon Ford’s pricing for Mustang GT’s WITH a supercharger…. Best bang for the buck… or if in the Market for a supercharged Mach 1, Granger Ford is the spot.

Also check to see if they even have an application yet for the 2022. A few small changes were made to emissions junk and I've not noticed anyone offering anything for '22's yet that affects induction or tune. I think they are waiting to see who will figure out what changed. I cannot get a definitive answer on that. What I want to see is a wheel dyno between a stock 2021 GT and a stock 2022 GT identical gears/trans.

I had looked at the Mach 1 but didn't know if the gain was as significant as the price jump.

I had planned to go Whipple instead of Roush for supercharger but can go back to the drawing board if needed.

Also, if by "next month" you mean tomorrow or so, that's cool, but it not, I would encourage you to enter your order ASAP if you really want to get it this year. There's absolutely no telling when and how many times the factory will be shut down throughout the year and also no guarantees of how long they'll make 2022's before shutting down to fully re-tool for the S650. There's question about whether there will be any Mustang actually called a 2023 model at all or if there'll be a gap of 3-4 months and then '24's. I ordered a '22 because I really like the S550 and even with improvements potentially in the S650, the potential for it not being as-cool is really there. Ford has done it before... (I'd prefer a mint 2004 GT over a mint 2005 all day long).

Are you going with a Roush or a different brand?

I am headed the same direction (3.0 whipple stage 2) except with a Mach 1. You may want to consider some suspension upgrades to handle wheel hop, and the weight of the Whipple on the front springs.
Not sure if OPGs or Crank support is necessary, perhaps others can chime in there

Me or the OP? I'm not planning on a supercharger until the car is paid off. Not because of warranty, but because of financial responsibility, heh.

Looking for your input
I like the Rousch for the fact that it can keep factory warranty. I have Ford ESP through 8yr/100k and don't want to destroy that. So whatever I do needs to be acceptable by Ford. I know you have to "pay to play" so I'll just play a little nicer, because I cannot afford to "pay."

I also like the centrifugal supercharger options. I like how they look under the hood and seem like an easier installation. But engine warranty = bye-bye.

You don't keep your factory warranty with a Roush supercharger. Your Ford 5yr/60k mile powertrain warranty is void and replaced by a Roush 3yr/36k warranty. That warranty starts from the in service date of the vehicle, not from the date the supercharger is installed.

So how does that fall into line with the 8yr/100k Ford ESP? Is it made totally worthless?

As far as I know your powertrain warranty would only be 3yr/36k miles from your in service date once you installedthe supercharger. The Ford extended warranty wouldn't change that.

So if you wanted to pay your car off first like you said in an earlier post, the supercharger may not make sense warranty wise. Let's say you paid the car off in 3 years. Then you installed the Roush supercharger. You would have no powertrain warranty. Roush wouldn't warranty it, and neither would Ford. If you want to mod, those extended warranties rarely make sense. Although if your radio breaks or your a/c goes out, I guess they would fix that.
