Going to be ordering some new sunglasses but am worried about going with polarized. I’ve seen some people say it can impact infotainment screens / looking out tinted side windows.
Does anyone with polarized sunglasses have any input?

They make digital displays look weird, sometimes to the point that they are illegible.

Correct about your center screen, and your dash instruments if you have the digital dash. There is some distorting of the instruments when using polarized glasses. Now, rather it's enough to make the instruments unreadable probably depends on your eyes and the light. I do know that pilots can't use polarized glasses in aircraft with digital instruments.

I have trouble using my polarized sunglasses and reading the digital screens, but it's doable.

How bad is the center screen for GPS with polarized lenses ?

I have zero issues with my polarized sunglasses. Costa Del Mar, Maui Jim, and Shady Rays, all work fine with no distortion. I also have the digital display, no problem.

They are for water or snow. Visibility can be reduced by reflections off horizontal surfaces and I have experienced

There is no need for them anymore it's old tech.
Not worth getting polarized sunglasses?

As someone who flew for 13 years in the Air Force this is an incorrect statement. Digital gauges have polarized screens on them to reduce glare but as long as you aren’t tilting your head they do not black out.
I’ve always worn polarized glasses, even when I flew.

LOL if you say so. I have light sensitivity and polarized glasses are a godsend for me. The reduction in glare and reflections is absolutely worth the “old tech” when I’m driving. Old does not equal obsolete.

Yes I can see dots in window tint, seriously reduced computer screen clarity at home. But I don't notice any issues with my dash or infotainment screens.

I am not willing to go without Polarization. I have sensitive eyes and squinting reduces vision and gives me headaches.

Depends on how you feel about glare. and eye strain

Polarized lenses will not protect your eyes from UV damage more than standard 100% UV lenses. However, they can give you clearer, more accurate vision and alleviate some eye strain. If you find yourself squinting a lot, even when you're wearing sunglasses, consider investing in polarized sunglasses.

I wear glasses to reduce as much glare as possible, which is the advantage of polarization. These days, many polarized glasses also have UV protection built in as well.

The only issue I have (being tall) is with the polarized lenses & gas pumps ... reading the credit card screen can be tough (maybe its the angle looking down) - no issues in the car whatsoever.
