Just as a reference a 2017 Civic Type R got an official time of 7:43
i dont know enough about the ring. is this a good time, or close to what we should expect from a mach 1 optioned this way?
well, the ring is both technical AND fast, it is a great test grind for an all around great car. I think the HP would make a significant difference here, between tires for low speed sharp turns, and downforce for the high speed straights and sweeps.i dont know enough about the ring. is this a good time, or close to what we should expect from a mach 1 optioned this way?
I feel like there's a "By the way..." involved in that time difference.Just as a reference Sport Auto lapped a 2017 Civic Type R in 7:43
Not a very good time at all. A sub 8 minute lap is considered good but not exceptional. A 2008 BMW M3 ran an 8:05 a ZCP (Comp package) in 2012 ran a 7:58 although it isn't recorded on Nurburgring times. This is a car that was on PS2s and with only 414hp. Now one caveat is it wasn't a HP car with the Cup2s. That easily would have shaved 5-7 seconds off the lap.
If I recall a GT350R ran a sub 7:30 at the ring.
i cant watch the video at the moment but i imagine the driver plays a huge role at the ring. is the guy driving someone respectable or some magazine writer that my wife could beat through the turns?well, the ring is both technical AND fast, it is a great test grind for an all around great car.
