Speed and gear display is important to display and in the right place. Just check out any new Lexus IS or RC in F sport trim and you'll have a perfect example of how this can/and is done right (see below). In the interim, Ford please add them as the OP suggested.

I have to say, I really hate the Tach on the left. That's the one thing that I really don't like. I'm so used to it being on the right in my S197's and no matter how I adjust my driving position and the steering wheel, my arm gets in the way of my view of it.

I also agree with the OP that a digital speedo should be very easy to implement on the center screen.

When would you possibly need to see a digital display over the needle? If you are on a highway with a fair amount of traffic you still have plenty of time to check your speed (for whatever reason) or if you're on the straight at Willow Springs it's much easier to check the needle position vs. reading a display. As others have said, neither could be considered "precise" because they are both getting their input from the same place.

Also having the gear displayed on a manual? I agree with the others; hell, 90% of the time you don't even need to know what gear it is you are in, just go by feel.

I'd rather have the option to see where the torque is going through the diff, or any other bits of telemetry that might become available.
There is such a thing now! I actually have it and it is coming straight from the ecu... it works on most all cars with obd2. You can purchase a Bluetooth link called Kiwi. It's usually about $100. If you have android, I use the one called Torque Pro. There is a one time fee for the pro version... $5usd I think lifetime updates through the play store. This program also works resetting codes from the engine... check it out... one of the best thing s I got... it also has several customizable gauges, map tracking and also performance tracking that can be exported

Hey, here is an idea for you folks... how about a customizable dash readout? A good example is the one being used in the 2016 Audi TT. EVERYTHING is a digital readout or even the customary dial/analog gauges among several others.... runs off QNX. though the dash had nav embedded should be agood example to make others happy... updates can be done to it

I miss the digital pony that was displayed on my 2014 . All I see now is miles to empty . My 2014 showed the pony with miles to empty right underneath the pony .

Woo Hoo!!! Looks like GT350 has Digital Speedo. Hopefully Ford makes it upgradable to 2015s!
We just purchased a new Colorado P/U, it has the Digital Speedo between the Gauges along with several other info displays, but we (Wife + Myself) love leaving it on speedometer mode. Amazing how I never look at the analog version after having the Digital...

FORD I want this on all S550s.

Please program Gauge Mode in center dash to include Digital Speed Display. This is an important safety feature. I see there is a screen now dedicated to only display distance to empty. This screen can easily be upgraded to show large digital speedo. DTE is also shown on about 3 other screens! Please make dealer update available as most cars included this feature today. Thanks!

BONUS Feature: Show current gear selection (manual) on display as well.
Agree with Digital Speed Display. I don't see Gear Display as a must have. You'll get used to the car and know what gear it's in based on shifter position, speed and rpms. Keep the ideas flowing though!

I'm not a manual driver, so I could be off base on this, but it would seem to me like it might be helpful to show if you're in 1st, 3rd, or 5th before you let off the clutch since they're all next to each other and it could be hard to tell which one you grabbed.

Ken Block's Mustang has the feature, it appears in several places, a good one is around the 6:40-7:00 mark.

Lighten up the car by about 400 pounds, stiffen up the rear suspension to avoid wheel hops, bigger tires in rear ...

Oh wait this is the GT350!

My bicycle computer knows what gear I am in. It can sense that from the shifter. Ford could do that. My bike computer also calculates pedal cadence, using ground speed, gear ratio and tire diameter. Ford could calculate manual transmission gear selection from that information, too. I don't think OP is asking a lot, given the number of choices already in the gauge mode. Just a bit of programming time.

And I agree, I really wish all of the settings (center display, MFT, drive modes at least) were "sticky." Altogether too much to set on every little trip down to the corner store.

Apparently there is a hidden feature where you can pull up "the engineering menu" and enable a built-in digital speedometer.

All it takes is to press and hold the left OK button when starting your car.

This feature is not unique on the S550. All Mustangs since 1999 are supposed to include this engineering menu. (in the past you had to hold down the ok or reset button before putting in the old fashioned key...keep holding while you turn the key to the "on" position...let it go when it says engineering mode, see http://stangu.com/2011-2012-ford-mustang-gt-engineering-mode/).

One of the screens shows speed in mph and km/h which matches the enhancement request in this thread. Of course it is a pain to do this each time you start your car.

Thanks to smdandb2 for bringing this to our attention.

That's the problem with a needle. It's a ballpark number. After having it in my Audi I rely on it. And especially when on track you can get a very quick speed check through corner, at finish etc. You don't have to use it but it definitely should be included in the Gauge choices.
you shouldnt be looking at your gauges mid corner.... just sayin
