I did a custom paint job on one there products that was a color they did not have .I Had to strip it down .It was like a epoxy enamel.Some airplane paint stripper made quick work of it .
You can sand it off from the back to keep the OE look :My rational brain says wont do anything ... my OCD says lower IAT and mega HP.
Of course the sickness has me considering:

Exactly. 18mos in (from new), 27k miles and counting! 1,500mi/mo on average, I think I'm a tad above the national average of 1,125. I think it used to be 12k mi/yr on average, they bumped it up to 13,500mi/yr.
62k took me 10 months to get to. Of course minus 27k from it when I bought the car last year. Y'all need to drive more instead of hiding your cars. Life is short get out and drive.

Got mine when they first came out. Love them. Always use a microfiber to close.Finally got the trunk pop kit installed. Took literally under 2 minutes.

What i did as well awhile back .also I took a grill and cut the honeycomb out completely and did these inserts.You can sand it off from the back to keep the OE look :

I used a Japanese saw but it had a lot of resistance so I switched to a coping saw. It had less control and cut too deep, leaving the remaining grid too shallow IMO.
