Anyone have any experience lining up against the Subaru crowd? Thing sounds pretty fast, especially with AWD.

I am assume it is faster on the quarter mile but for a track it may be a different story.

lol….wut?

268hp, really?!?

yea ok, the awd might jump you at the light, but it will be over quickly for them.

***caveat being the WRX as a whole are very easy to mod and make hella quick.

But modified boxers tend to not last long. I personally know of 4 that blew.

meh, as with most platforms in this game it depends on the tuner!

my brother-in-law tunes this one, and it has set time attack records on both coasts…

I owned a 2017 WRX (same power as a 2021), sold it and now own a 2015 GT Premium. Everything is better with the Mustang except the handling. The WRX with the AWD is a blast to drive. Other than that, the Mustang wins. No rev hang, no turbo lag, better interior, better shifter and it‘s a V 8. Two totally different cars however and just one persons opinion.

Is this serious? Plenty of modified WRX and STI by me. The only way I lose is if I wasn't trying to begin with. Like, it's not even close. I can miss a gear or slam against the limiter and still be far enough ahead for it not to matter. I'm sure there's some out there that'll hand me my rear but that day has yet to come.

that car is insane…even better when the “booyah“ boost switch is toggled 😂
Hahaha. Booyah boost. I like it. Sounds like a ton of fun! I can appreciate tuner done right. That's unfortunately nonexistent near me. It's mostly posers with fart cans and regular civics with "type R" badging.

Subarus are really nothing to worry about. A full built subaru will last a couple weeks before blowing up its nice iag closed deck block and rotated turbo setup that makes 700whp.

Subarus are great rally and time attack cars but they are not straight line performers by any serious means.

None of them can live in the 4 digits, you can find a glory pull here and there but nothing actually ran at high horsepower. Look at the gymkhana car making 862hp I believe (not sure on exact number and too lazy to find it) and that is a max effort no expense spared kind of build.

Yeah there was the TX2k this year that a subaru won the 4banger tier. But that was compared only against other 4 bangers so not worth too much to me.

The new Type R is sick. Thinking about trading the pony for it.

STi is 300hp.
Oooooooh wowwww. The lowly V6 Mustang makes just as much power as their top of the line STi model.

Your first post is exactly correct, it "sounds" and "looks" fast, but in today's world it's not exactly anything special. It may take a Mustang off the line, but with equal drivers and such it doesn't stand a chance in the quarter mile especially against the A10 GTs. Mototrend has the WRX run the quarter mile 14.2 @ 98mph. My front wheel drive 260hp Grand Prix GTP from 1999 ran those kinds of numbers.

It has the potential to handle a little better on track simply due to the AWD, but again it's nothing special especially against a performance pack car.

My brother has a 19 STI and now I might want to race him. He is modified while the only performance mod I have is the airbox mod with an AFE drop in.

Sti's are ok, they handle really good and pretty quick if you go bigger turbos.

But the R type is sweet looking. I would rather get a Honda than a subaru.
