Just finished my rear decklid project.

- (1) 4.5" Cobra emblem from Asia (they come in ABS and metal - I found a metal one)
- (2) Stainless M5 10mm flathead Phillips screws
- (1) Drake honeycomb panel
- Used emblem adhesive backing with holes as my drill template from front of honeycomb panel (small countersink of drill holes with larger bit from back so panel sit flush)

Some people are just critical of people “pretending” a car is something it’s not. This is the same as putting 5.0 logos on an Ecoboost, which i think is a dumb move and cheapens the look of the car. It doesn’t make them losers for calling out the fakers.

What does the snake emblem represent to you?

Thanks! Don't know yet about the cleaning it.

Could care less. I've owned a '65 Shelby clone, a '67 Hi-Po fastback, a '69 Mach 1, a '73 Mach 1, a '67 Chevelle SS396, a '69 Camaro RS/SS 350, Corvettes and multiple Vipers. I'm too old to worry about what somebody with their first Mustang might criticize. ...I do what I likes 😉 (Besides, it's a convertible - obviously no such animal out there - it's a 'tribute' car - what Ford should have done. 😄)

And all of those 'Coyote' GT350 look-a-like emblems out there (with howling dogs instead of Cobras) aren't just because everyone is concerned about absolute legit badges, it's because Ford won't let there be certain emblem copies sold in the US (just try to find an OEM 4.5" 2020 GT500 emblem). So I found a black one from China.

LOL, OK. It's one thing to use a Coyote type emblem. But a snake? Cmon man.

Most shelby owners I know are definitely not Losers. I know a few that would take Offense to seeing fake snake emblems on a non Cobra car.

I think this looks cool and to hell with shelby owners lol why would someone care enough to get offended by someone else's car/taste. That's what I mean by loser. Everyone should be free to make the choices they want without some other prick picking on it. I think that's what the first amendment is all about anyway lol

It looks cool. But it looks like cleaning it would drive me nuts.

I say do what you want with your car. You paid for it. I'm gonna slap a GT500 front end on my EB next year.

I don’t get offended. Just as I don’t understand putting a Snake on one that isn’t, I don’t understand getting upset about it.

I think it is more of a comment on the folks who go to the effort of modifying a badge that doesn’t belong. Pretty amusing actually. I have seen some “clones” of domestic and foreign classics that are really well done with performance to match. Just chasing down a badge and slapping it on the car? Eh not for me.

If it makes the owner happy then I am happy for the owner.

At least it's not an ecoboost with a snake.....that'd be a real kick in the shorts.

Looks good though!

That decklid panel is interesting, where did you get it? Is it matte or glossy?

How was the fitment? I've heard some of these aftermarket and even the OEM panels don't fit quite right in the corners

It's matte, but there is some water showing in the pic since I had just washed it. I think I got it from Am Muscle, but everybody has it. It lays on top of the rear panel with 3M tape - it's a great solution if you botched up removing the original emblem or scratched up the original decklid panel - it just covers it all.
