Tried out the new tires and wheels on the Goat Trail up to Bear Mountain Bridge and then up to the peak of Bear Mountain. Fun roads. The Goat Trail can be a blast if you are not stuck behind a minivan.

but, I read the general comments think the maverick is a bust/fail/ugly. its the only truck ive ever considered the possibility of owning. I watched the video, its legit as tits, tons of useful features for me as a everyday person with bikes/groceries/pulling kayaks or motorcycles. nothing heavy duty

It is like the Honda Ridgeline. It ain’t really much of a truck, but it will do what 70%-80% of what actual truck owners use their truck for.

I lost 500 dollars dude. I paid deductible of 500. so I am out 500, they told me I get to keep the parts they pull off my car. so here I go, ask a question and you hit me calling me a cheap bastard. kind of uncalled for. the full bill is 4,000. sure, I dont have to pay 3500 more, but im still out 500 I dont want to be out of.

if the parts were worth even a few bucks, if someone wanted them and I could get the few bucks to offset loss, that is a win.

The fact of the matter is once that rubber surround on the S550 rear 1/4 glass has been malformed, it cannot be brought back to "normal". Even if you were to try it with a heat gun and worked it outward, it won't conform to the body again. Sure, the 1/4 window could be reinstalled to another S550 and sealed properly using correct butyl, but that outer rubber surround will never seat to the body correctly. Plus in some instances when the rear 1/4 glass is removed, sometimes the alignment pegs get busted.

Here’s some more factual info regarding S550 glass if anyone is interested…

The front, rear and side glass on an S550 can be Carlite or PGW from the factory (depends on model year, as some have a mix of both, or only 1 brand). My 2018 is Carlite front and rear, while all sides is PGW and is original to the vehicle as built.

PGW (Pittsburgh Glass Works) was sold off by PPG, because PPG was getting out of the glass business. PGW is owned by LKQ Corp.

The S550 rear 1/4 windows, the rubber surround is not installed by PGW or Carlite - that is an encapsulation process that is completed by another vendor. I know this as fact, as I had lengthy correspondence between me and a Carlite Rep regarding the driver side rear 1/4 window on my prior 2016.

The rubber surround on the original 2016 1/4 glass kept curling under and was totally distorted. When my Dealer had put in for a warranty replacement, Ford denied it first time. I then reached out directly to Carlite and sent pics and the Rep stated it should be replaced under warranty and it was defective. He proceeded to tell me that the rubber gasket or surround is not done by Carlite, the glass is sent out to another location for encapsulation and Carlite pays for that expense. Ford eventually replaced my 2016 1/4 under warranty after better pics were sent in and the rubber concern statement used was “distortion”.

The Carlite “brand” is owned by Ford from when Ford used to be in the glass business years ago. At some point, Ford divested itself of its internal suppliers and decided to get product from the outside market. Carlite was spun off to Visteon and eventually Visteon sold the glass business to a private company, who eventually sold to Central Glass in Japan. Central Glass retained rights to make and distribute glass with the Carlite branding and the Ford logo on it; today this company is now known as Carlex Glass America.

Spare should never go on a drive wheel. Especially not on a FWD. Do the shuffle and swap it onto the rear.

Well, he came and liked the car. I was like "you know you can't drive far with a spare in the front right? You should switch it out with the back passenger tire" he said it's ok I'll go slow. He did make it to Maryland from Arlington so all good. Not my problem anymore

CAN and SHOULD are completely different concepts...I wouldn't recommend applying anything learned about cars from what you see "in the hood".

Hood cars and "bangernomics" actually have a lot of learning potential behind them. Poor people and poor communities have a magical way of getting down the road no matter what, against all odds. It's one thing to maintain a car and do everything right, it's another thing entirely to see what stupid shit you can get away with and achieve the same result.

With that said, I certainly wouldn't do it to a car I cared about.

there is 1 little pelt on each window trim chrome surround, on the bottom. can barely see it, but they showed me, so they replacing it, and on driver side door bottom door trim, has 1 or 2 pelts. dont even care, I will let them replace everything on car to get my $500 worth deductible.

unlike the rubber window trim, the chrome won't warp. its reinforce by the metal, ive seen several mustangs out and on the lot with rubber trim deformed, ive touched it etc, my metal trim is literally metal, so assuming its shape was good from factory, it won't move/warp simply because its metal over the rubber. like extra stiffness

its USAA"s body shop, they guarantee the work 100% if I am not happy they will send it elsewhere to be redone, they also garauteen it for life. so let me tell ya, if they dont make these windows perfect, im either getting my 500 deductible back, or they simply doing it all over again. I dont even care. thats what I pay them for. USAA charges me more than every other competitor for insurance.
