I get what you're saying. And I may track the car but I don't really care. I've got the FX4 package on my Ranger and I may never off-road either. but if I decide I want to off-road I have what I need. I've also driven performance packed cars with the magna ride and it's excellent. I've also modified s550s to handle better and they do not ride as good as a magneride car. To each his own.

From what you're saying I would definitely not purchase a Mach One. But for the rest of us that can afford the car with no problem which is the only way to buy this type of car by the way, we don't care. I'm in my 60s I could care less. I might only own the car for a year or two.

In your case, where you're just a die-hard track guy, don't care about ride quality or sound in the cabin or the appearance of the car then I would definitely pick up a stripper and do what you want to it.

have fun with whatever you decide what you're not going to change my mind or most any of us that are buying a Mach One. And we really don't care if you think it's a good deal or not. It's irrelevant.

Who wants a base car? A premium PP1 with magneride, blah, blah is $54K. Just got to Ford's Build and Price. Good grief. Similarly equipped Mach I is 58K.
Bnight's point is that if you're serious enough about tracking a Mustang that you're going to swap to a Magnum XL, your #1 priority is the track and everything else secondary or lower. You'd be getting close to the point where Ford's ABS and AdvanceTrac calibrations for the Mach 1 might no longer be appropriate. At that point you might as well start off with a base model, since things like feature content would be close to irrelevant.

Who says it's only a track car? I've modded several s550s. This is about a great car. A culmination of Fords best effort. Go ahead and buy a stripper and mod it. That's not what this car is about. Read the many posts again and you'll get it.
Yeah it's a great car, but if you're buying it because it has what the PP2 and early non-R GT350 cars should have had (but didn't) it's obvious that you'd be buying it specifically for its track cred.

It's only the track-specific stuff that puts the Mach 1 on my own short list.

I’m afraid you keep missing the point. The Mach 1 is Mustang royalty. The 2021 Mach 1 is a homage to the legend. Legends don’t come cheap. To many paying $60k for this car this is more important than the individual parts. Of course the Tremec doesn’t hurt. 👍

Two different cars. The Bullitt was a homage to a car from a movie. It was never actually a real car. Also the reason they sat on the lots were the ADM’s the idiot dealers were charging. Ford sold everyone they made.

The 50th anniversary was a very big deal to every Mustang fan. It was a one & done. The Shelby’s are continuation models. They are not really special in that sense. I already addressed the Bullitt. Not sure how the Mach-E even figures into this conversation. There is nothing limited or special about it.

Everyone: oh the MACH 1 has GT350 this, GT350 that, GT350 coolers, blah blah.

Can it beat a GT350 ? Nope. Heavier than a GT350 ? I'm guessing much heavier.
So it's basically a bloated rebadged GT350 with stickers & a ugly (imo) front end
with a GT350 price tag.

Congrats.

You’re on the wrong thread. You don’t like it, and you don’t feel it is worth it. Fine. Why not go over to the Mach 1 bashing thread and leave this one for those who like it and feel it is worth the money?

I went the buy-a-base-GT-and-make-it-a-track-star route to save money. Was never a Bullitt fan but always loved the Boss’s and Mach 1’s in previous years. When this one came out I was interested in the performance but after test driving one I ordered one not only for the performance, but also because I just think it’s really cool. I don’t mind paying a little extra for the emblems. If my car had Magneride and active exhaust it would have been a much harder decision though.

They can’t leave because they have Mach 1 derangement syndrome

Wut ? I can't have a opinion as to why it isn't a bargain ?

You naysayers against the Mach 1 are hilarious! You're a bunch of whiny babies because you are not going to buy one. I had my 18 out tonight which has a pro charger on it and has a lot more horsepower than the tires can handle does that mean the car is only made for the drag strip? Figure it out! people want to drive the car to the store and back and have a blast you want to do it with a stripper 300a go for it! This is what we like about the car for crying out loud. Nobody needs 760 horsepower. it's called being an American and buying what you want without a bunch of whiners complaining about it. Go to the hate site you'll be happier there.

On the other hand you could be trolls trying to sabotage Mach 1 sales so people buy the grossly ugly Camaro which sold 29,000 units last year. Leave it alone and go to another site or get a life for crying out loud
