Thanks for the consideration Cobra Jet -- most appreciated.

I am still having some difficulty (and can't get a straight answer from the dealer service department) as to why they are replacing the tone ring ALONG with the crank sensor. For the code P0300, why wouldn't you just try replacing the crank sensor and see if that corrects the issue? Why add the large job of removing the transmission to the mix?

Hey -- I am not a technician, I just ask stupid questions.
You have to remove the transmission to replace the sensor. It's installed into the rear main seal casting and it has to be sealed in with a special sealer to keep it from leaking oil. If you're in there to replace the sensor it makes sense to replace the tone ring at the same time.

I had TSB 19-2135 done about three months ago and it took the tech about two hours to complete.

Looking at the sensor , where the crack is , did the also replace the connector? It looks like that would cause the connector to move in the sensor . If that happens there is most likely terminal spread in the connector. Poor pin fit will cause issue down the road . Good job on the tech for finding the issue , but if the connector wasn't inspected or replace the follow threw was a little light .

I believe you are referring to what appears to be the odd angle of the bolt?

in the picture the part that is cracked is where the sensor plugs into the wire harness . The sensor it self is at the other end that is not shown in the picture . For it to crack the way it is cracked would be caused by poor installation . With sensor being cracked the way it is , it would cause the connector to move around . What will cause pin fit issues in the connector itself .

Here is an example of what a spread pin looks like . It is taken out of the connector to se better . With poor pin fit you would get an erratic crank signal to the pcm .
