I got 2 small nails next to each other with a very slow leak . Can this be repaired ? America tires told me they cannot repair it due to the nails being next to each other.
A larger patch should take care of that, but I'm not a tire expert. Maybe patching two holes that close together is a no no. I would never plug a tire unless it's just a temporary fix until I could get somewhere to patch it.
Yes. If it was sidewall or near the edge then no. This is small holes dead center of the tread. Just do patch and plug. So need to remove the tire for the patch. Lazy way is just to plug.
They're not on the outer tread. Nothing wrong with repairing those with a plug patch. And if you even want to track on that? Go for it, it'll be perfectly fine.
My tire guy says they don’t use plug anymore but a patch should easily cover both holes, they may actually be closer on the inside if they went in on an angle.
For liability reasons most reputable tire shops use a plug/patch that is pulled through the hole from the inside that seals the hole and patches the inside. How do you use one when you have two holes close to each other?

A butt plu...er, a plug patch. It combines a plug and an inner patch together to provide the best seal. They vulcanize to the tire and provide excellent safety and reliability.
Never seen those type of plugs before. Pretty neat. Will pick some up for our shop. Another thought you may consider would be use the plugs & a good old fashion tube to play it safe if tracking.
By the "rules" that's two punctures and by the "rules" two punctures within a prescribed distance are not repairable especially in a Z rated tire. Sure it can be repaired but the assumed liability makes it not-repairable, in their eyes.
