I'm very pleasantly surprised! After Mercedes butchered the next C"""63""" with a 4 cycliner I thought there was no way Lexus of all brands would put out a new compact V8 sedan.

Donut tried comparing it to a GT500. Well this POS is only making 9.x hp / lb. Hardly anything to write home about. Any 15+ Mustang GT has a better power to weight.

I'll be patiently waiting for the used market to bring the price to an affordable (for me) level.

eh, a bit of a sleeper though. Looks like every other Lexus sedan on the road, but has a v8. Thats pretty neat. Not my style though.
Exactly Adam. This isn't about why you don't like it. It's about a manufacturer adding another V8 to their line. Instead of beating them up (power to weight ratio, really), how about appreciating what they are doing. This forum is getting so damn negative that's its tiring.

Would take one over a mustang gt any day of the week, Lexus / Toyota >>>>>>>> Ford in terms of build quality and reliability.

If you want the cheapest way to go fast then the mustang is a good buy, but they cut allot of corners to get the price down.

This, the Lexus 5.0 is an amazing engine too. I've experienced one in an RCF and it was a great car. Comparing a touring sedan to a GT500 and whining about the disparity on the power to weight ratio misses the point of the car. It's not a gt500 competitor.

I'll be more constructive in my negativity. It's twice as much money for a slower car. If I'm spending north of $70k, there's much cooler things out there than a 5.0 Toyota. Yes, I get that it's a good thing to have more v8's out there, but I'd rather buy a Hellcat for that money.
Who the hell wants a 70k fiat smh
