Fantastic story. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on the car. Although, living in Wisconsin I’m very jealous of only having to wait 3 days after first snow to drive again. 😆
I should know my audience better! 😂

But catch up with me in 5 months when it’s 110-117 degrees for 3.5 months in a row and it’s too hot to drive!

Terrific story and like yourself many of us have a passion for Shadow Black GT350R's therefore congratulations on your very cool new ride.

Not only was your car the 5th last R model built at the FRAP for 2018 but if I was a betting man I would suggest that you probably have the very last Shadow Black with Black Matte stripe GT350R built for the 2018 model year.

I was just out admiring the color combo again and have to say I am beyond pleased with it. Ceramic coating and the PPF also seems to make it very easy to keep clean with a quick detail spray and micro fiber towel. I am a happy customer so far.

I will add that the tramlining comments were no joke! She really seems to be a 2 hands on the wheel car. Will that ease up when I switch to street tires?

I switched to PS4S, went down 10mm on the width and found that to be a nice compromise in regards to tram-lining and just in case I get caught in the wet.

Unfortunately tramlining has always been an issue with the GT350's and especially with the R models.

The first time that I drove my 2016 R I was really caught off guard as had no experience with tramlining to that degree up to that point but as you mentioned 2 hands on the wheel is a must when on certain roads.

My 2020 R is much better in that respect but totally not eliminated.

You can expect an improvement when going over to a less agressive street tire and suggest that you will see additional improvement if you slightly downsize on your rim width.

Good luck!

Yes it needs your constant attention with two hands. Road ruts and dips can/will jerk your wheel. When you hit that smooth asphalt the world will be corrected.

Congrats! Beautiful example! For the benefit of others 2020 and 8K miles, never experienced tramlining but it has 4S tires from day 1.

Great minds think alike when it comes to outstanding color/stripe combinations!

I bought this 2016 GT350R Base model and took delivery of it in Canada and then some 3 years later somehow it ended up at the Mecum Auto Auction in Glendale in March 2019 which is right in your back yard and hammered at $82,500.

Certainly like the Shadow Black with Black Matte OTT stripes on these R models.

Again congratulations on your very cool 2018 R model purchase!

BTW, I believe this car still resides in the Scottsdale area.

OK, so I'll bite..... What R chassis number was the last to roll of the line in 2018? I was told it was this one by someone on the line at the time.

If you are speaking of our common friend "LC" who confirmed that JR629 was the very last R model assembled at the FRAP for the 2018 MY I will certainly defer to his expertise inspite of 633 R's being built for the 2018 MY.

Actually been talking to him a fair bit lately and he seems to be doing very well and will always be very thankful to him for all the help that he has provided myself and many others over the years.

Yes, he is a good man.

I was not aware of the official R count for 2018. Did Ford ever publish the official numbers? I don't recall seeing them.
