Just read where new rules that take effect in the states of Washington and California on Jan. 1, 2021 will mean customers can’t order any Camaro with Brembo brakes. Cars on lots as of that date can still be sold, but new ones can’t be ordered. This is because of the copper content of the brakes. GM is changing the brake spec for ‘22 so that they can be sold then.

Just wondering if anyone is aware if Mustangs with Brembo brakes are also affected.

Camaros with Brembos are no-go

Hopefully Ford already took care of this issue.

California and Washington signed their respective brake pad bills into law back in 2010. In addition to limiting the amount of copper used in brake pads starting in 2021, the laws also banned heavy metals and asbestos from manufacturing in 2015. In 2025, the laws will become even more stringent, limiting brake pads to a maximum of 0.5 percent carbon composition.

Unless there is something I dont understand its just the pad right? yo can put any pad in there why would they not allow the sale of the whole car? that seems silly. I would not think a car company would just stop selling entire lines of cars in a specific state because of a replaceable low dollar item.

Maybe California should stop spending billons of researching if every single item ever created causes cancer and spend that money on curing cancer instead?

Bunch of tree huggin' goobers on the west coast (no offensive to 6G members there).
then those same ones in power will turn around and drive the same cars they banned. similar to COVID and "leaders" not wearing masks and not being in large gatherings. hypocrites.

but ill avoid that political topic for obvious reasons.

I wonder how long it will be before Commiefornia starts to regulate how many squares of toilet paper your allowed to use per sitting? It seems they want to regulate everything else.
