My HEP R is in transit... one of the few WITHOUT a factory cover.

A cover will be needed, who do you love?

cover king?
Cover craft?

Any and all recommendations opinions or thoughts on the subject would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Don't know if you've just completely ruled it out for some reason, but the factory cover is perfect for indoor use and I'd argue you won't find one that looks better. You'll read a lot of complaints about how the material "feels" too rough to put on your paint, but I assure you, and many will back me up, it does not marr or scratch your paint at all.

For winter indoor storage I use these cheap throwaway body shop clear covers. You can usually get them for 10 to 15 bucks on eBay and when the seasons over and they’re all full of dust and cruddy you just throw them out. They have a nice elastic band so they don’t move too much and they’re very light weight.

I ony buy Covercraft "Dustop" covers, and have for over 20 years....Vipers, Hellcats, Corvettes, Camaros....best lightweight inside only cover for keeping that fine "garage dust" off the car......

Thanks for all the info. Any song feelings on the "fitted" covers vs the more traditional? I'm thinking I'd like one with some "ding/scratch" protection as it will be in our family's 2 car garage (with 4 year old twins).

I'm thinking of combining high quality indoor cover with @nmp1 's suggestion of the disposable body shop plastic as the top layer?

I am sure that would work but it probably wouldn’t breathe too well. If you wanna go that route I would just make sure if you don’t have a dehumidifier in your garage get one of those disposable dehumidifier buckets and leave it in the car just to keep everything dry.

ah yes, good point.... in trying to keep the cover clean I'm not allowing it to breathe.

In purchased a car cover from my T-Bird from California Car Cover, the cover that came with the car was scratching it. The California Car Cover was not cheap but a really nice cover. Just my $.02. Best Regards!

Nothing "wrong" per se but I just want the car to be babied a bit so I'll spend a little more.

I haven’t looked at the cover that came with the car as of yet, I’ll look at it over the weekend. Hopefully it’s a nice cover or I will be shopping for a new one as well.

Completely agree. Been using the factory cover that came with my shadow black 2017 since new, zero issues.
