Another awesome exhaust out for the GT500. We've sold some units out there to forum members so hopefully they can chime in.

How do you guys like it?

Just wanted thank Josh at Meraki Autoworks for my Borla exhaust. Great to deal with and great prices. I have had it a while but just now got it installed. Been super busy and haven't got it out of the shop (working on other stuff). But my impression from start and revving is that is sounds amazing. Pretty simple install and seems to fit pretty good. Few notes:
  1. The Xpipe is very big, depth wise, and mine was hitting the heat shield. little manipulating with a tire iron and i think I have enough clearance but will keep an eye/ear out.
  2. The exhaust gets very close to the sway bar, i have Huge steeda bar and BMR cradle braces so it makes it that much closer. Again will wait and see if there is any issues, mainly worried about occasionally pot hole bouncing and making contact, not worried about heat.
  3. The 'quiet' side of the exhaust, the exit of the muffler is TINY like 1.5"....seems very small and wonder about restriction heat if left in quiet mode.
  4. Wonder about when going to LT headers and managing 3" connection as the Borla Xpipe is necked down at the front to 2 3/4 to match stock. Cross that road when i get there.
  5. The tips are true 5" OD.
Will try and follow up with sound clips when i get a chance, and also plan for LT headers and cat delete as soon as my schedule allows.

You aren't kidding when you said it took a while to install. Let me know if you come across any issues with the fitment or rubbing and I'll get it sorted with Borla.

Thanks again and enjoy!

I like to disassemble things.
So....those are resonators just before the mufflers?

Yes there like 6"-8" mini resonators

And is any part of that X/crossover closer to the CF shaft than stock (I'm talking about just aft of the heatshield)?

I assume you are talking about the area i circled in red? I think it HAS to be closer because of how they did the fancy crossover stuff.......

Are you worried about heat? Crossed my mind as there are NO heatshields and it has to be closer.....however surely Borla is smarter than that, and this is a fancy X pipe not a resonator so the heat should be nothing like a resonator.

Just looking at the system in terms of how it deviates from stock, not passing judgement.

Honestly the extra depth concerns me from ground clearance to heat shield clearance to overall susceptibility to noises/rattles or worst case interference.

Of all the typical aftermarket exhaust companies I have the most faith in Borla and the R&D they perform. I installed their system on the GT350 I had and was impressed with overall quality and fitment. When it comes to clearance, you can always tweak. I was just curious about available room between any of their new crossover and the CF shaft.

Yeah the fitment and tweaking was pretty much a non-event other than the items i mentioned. Won't know till i drive it. Sometimes 3/4" isn't enough and sometimes 1/4" works, just never know.

Could you wrap the crossover pipe like you would headers to help protect the carbon fiber drive shaft?
