Hey all
going to store my Stang for approx 6-12months,anything special i should do to the Stang, eg take the wheels off and put car on chasis stands, should i need to put any additives in the fuel system or the engine itself.
Or do i just put a dust cover over the Stang and start the engine once a month.
As you can see my QC is just finishing off the final inspection before storage.
Appreciate all help cheer's.

I did a lot of reading about this before I stored mine last year.

1. Wash, dry, and apply your favorite wax.

2. Fill the tank with non-ethanol fuel, add fuel stabilizer as per directions on the bottle. Drive around for a few minutes to allow the stabilizer to get mixed into the entire fuel system.

3. Change the oil and filter. Make sure you pre-fill the oil filter. Run engine to flush fresh oil through the system.

4. Inflate tires 3 or 4 psi above normal. (see door jamb for PSI)

5. Connect to a battery tender or remove battery.

6. Cover if you are parked in a dusty garage.

7. If you have rodents in your garage, place poison or traps by the wheels. (just in case)

8. Do not start the engine until you are ready to bring it out of storage, despite what the manual says.

Thanks for the help StangTime,is it worth taking the wheels off to prevent getting a flat spot on them or does putting a foam rubber under the
wheels prevent this issue.

If I was going to let mine sit for that long I would have it on stands and off the tires. Doesn't take long for them to deform when just sitting. I know when dealing with aircraft we had to tow the plane around for a while if it had sit more than 30 days to prevent "flat" spots.

Don't forget to check for gecko poop under your car cover occasionally Troy.

The most selfless and collegiate advice I can give you is that the best way to store your car is to let me look after it
That sir would require quite a substantial deposit for that to happen.

Deposit? You're obviously a generous man but I refuse to accept monetary reward for such a service to the Mustang community. I'll even pay for fuel and exercise her every day.
