I pulled up to a light next to a kid in an old rusty Jeep that obviously had a big V8 under the hood with practically no exhaust. He reved and, thinking we were just making noise, I did too as his girlfriend looked on from the passenger seat like she had seen this a million times before. When the light changed I realized why. He nailed it and I have never seen a Jeep move like that. I really wasn't trying to race and had to make an immediate right hand turn to get home, but I was impressed. Much respect to the kid in the old rusty Jeep that he probably built up himself that could give most expensive sports cars a run for their money.

I'm so happy with the FPB with the black/magnetic stripes. Plus that black painted roof...

Honestly the only other colour I would have wanted for 2019... well maybe Orange Fury.

If I had the chance for a 2020? If it wasn't FPB, it would be Twister or Grabber Lime. Both with black stripes and roof.
DITTO :-)

I had a kid in a gray bondo'd out old muscle car try to race me at a stop light. He had a chrome skull on the front of the hood as well... I've never seen anything like it. He started revving like crazy and took off when the light turned green. I just sat there and slowly pulled away. Two seconds later I could hear the sirens.... some kids have to learn the hard way.
I don't get as much attention in the Shelby as I thought I would, but having the PB color with the black stripes helps me to fly under the radar, at least to the degree you can in these cars..

Let me start by saying that I don't know what's going on in the world these days, COVID-fatigue or democrat-republican or social injustice or something, but anymore, so many people are just dicks. On top of that, for some reason (I'm thinking the color may have something to do with it), I can't go ANYWHERE without being noticed. It's cool once in a while for someone to say "nice car" when you're filling up with gas, but jeez, sometimes it would be nice to just be able to enjoy your car without being pestered. It's constant and it's annoying and exhausting. Wonder if famous people feel like this when they just want to go out to eat.

Case in point: Today my son was visiting his girlfriend at college in Pittsburgh. Beautiful day today, mid-70's and sunny, perfect day to take the Mustang to go pick him up. About a 40 minute drive with everything from back roads to stoplights to freeway traffic. 5 minutes into the drive at a light a young guy and his girlfriend pull up next to me in their beat up SUV and he's yelling at me to put the window down to talk about the car. OK, that's fine. 5 minutes later I'm in the slow lane on a 2-lane 40 mph road and some jaggerass in a diesel monster truck is riding shoulder to shoulder with me and won't pass or slow down. Finally lose him and get on the freeway and ready to move right to the exit ramp and some a-hole on a sportbike decides he's gonna beat me to it and I almost killed him. Had to slam on the brakes and swerve back left. Into the city and park on the street waiting for my son, and have the inevitable conversation with the college kid about the car. Heading home and back on the freeway and a 2010-ish white Charger with huge chrome wheels blasts right up on my ass, swerves left next to me and revs it, then takes off. Dude, really, you have no chance but I could not be less interested. Sigh. Then two dudes in ricers with fart can mufflers and various colored doors and hoods blow past me revving their 0.0001 cubic inch engines. Almost home and get stopped because of an accident, dude on a sport bike laid it down. My son goes well looks like sometimes those guys bite off more than they can chew. Amen, son. JUST EVERYONE LEAVE ME THE F ALONE ALREADY! Anyone else have days like this?
Buy a Camry. Problem solved. Not that hard for me to say Thanks Man...

LOL yeah a couple people have suggested a Camry so far... well they do have black wheels and wing now! I don't mind the chatting at the gas pump, I'm just sick of the moron drivers.

I had a new Dodge Ram single cab short bed try me. He was behind me at a stoplight. I took off about half throttle like normal but in sport plus it chirped a little. Next thing I know he’s 3’ off my bumper. So I floor it put 6 or 7 bus lengths on him. We later turn onto a 4 lane rd I give him the thumbs up for trying and wave and he gives me the finger...so I laugh at him. He tried to take off on me so I burp it a few times next to him and let him go. It did sound good though and had some whistling from the hood (sounded like a cold air)

Years ago a buddy had a ratty brown and white late '70s Bronco that had a stout aluminum-headed 460 in it, complete with quiet exhaust. The appearance of it made you think the cam was just a horrendous state of tune. The thing was an absolute riot on the street in low range with the front axle locked in. There wasn't much around that could touch it between lights. At least until the transfer case grenaded on the main drag one night. Good times.

I love when truck guys can't handle the bruised ego of being reminded how slow they are. Not saying fast ones aren't out there (EB F150's can be scary and quiet), but most of them are pathetically slow, even with a v8.

I agree those eco trucks can hall ass for a little work. I use to have a 2000 lightning with fbo including mp blower 16-18lbs of boost. And was only running 12.0s

I get that from the big Dodge trucks. Most of the time I think they just want to see what I have under the hood and push me to open it up.
^^^This^^^

A friend once said (when he had a '67 Chevelle);
..If I can't outrun 'em,
at least I'll get to hear them open it up...........

But he's got a Hemi with an intake...nothing can beat him :cwl::cwl::cwl:
I have a neighbor and a brother like that. They both think their pickup trucks could give my GT a good run. The neighbor has a stock 4 door Ram and my brother has a 2001 GMC shorty with a stock 305. I remind them both of the physics (360hp - 5700 lbs and 240hp - 4600 lbs vs 460 hp - 3900 lbs) and I get "It's faster than you think" and "I have an intake".
