So you have an Urus and an FF in your garage? My god.
Those belong to my buddy. I don’t want that kind of attention on the regular. I like the invisible nature of the S550 I drive.

Thanks everyone for chiming in, this has been very entertaining! I am coming to the conclusion that the ruby red gets kind of a reflex reaction from people, it catches their eye and then they look and evaluate what it is that is painted that color and whether they want to do something about it. Probably 80% of conversations start with “love that color”. Took it to work today and damned if it didn’t happen again in the parking lot when I got out. It’s happened in reverse many times where I’m in traffic and all of a sudden something red catches my eye so I look and then see its a Chevy Cobalt or something.
Ruby red is a really nice color and I think one people associate with a sports car. It really catches people’s attention so much so that someone backed into the front of my ruby red S197 a few years back. Guess it grabbed his attention too much because there’s no other excuse for backing into a red car.

I live in SE MI, Mustangs everywhere, but because of the trim package mine gets non-stop attention, looks and comments. It looks a little more pimped out than your typical GT, so I think color has a lot to do with how much attention it draws. Don't mind at all usually, if I'm in a hurry it frustrates me a little, but people are just trying to be friendly at the end of the day, which is hard to find these days.

I have had a couple cars/GTs pull up next to me on the highway and rev, I just laugh at them and keep going on my way. My wife was with me once when a guy on the highway kind of circled me before revving next to me, and she asked if that happens a lot, made me laugh.

People who know me know that I love the desert. They think I'm crazy for loving the desert because there's nothing out there.

That's why I love it. I can cruise at 60, do hard pulls and generally fuck around.

The other day I was cruising in sport mode purely for the downshifts. They sound EPIC. Every downshift I giggled. It was beautiful. But of course everyone around me either wanted to race or lecture me for having an obnoxious car. I don't do it for the attention I do it because I love it.

Therefore, I spend my time in painfully harsh climates because at least there's no one around to think my whole existence has to do with them or vice versa for that matter.

If I could move to Vegas or Phoenix and ship my car there I’d do it in a heartbeat... pic of the best vacation ever a couple years ago in Vegas, birthday gift from my wonderful wife, rented these 3 cars and blasted through the desert for a few hours:

Agreed, it's absolutely amazing living so close to nowhere. We have tons of roads here as well that are straight for miles with no police to worry about, and if you want to really screw around legally you can just go to the Bonneville salt flats. I don't miss living back east at all.

Actually, I've lost my mountain road that I've raced on for 40 years.
Couple months back the state DOT rolled in and dropped the speed
limit down to 35 mph.
Even the open highway up to the bottom of the mountain was slowed to
45 mph. I don't drive the road much anymore since I've retired, but gee, I
hated to lose it. Had a lot of fun on it.

There were a lot of 'Sport bike' riders tearing it up on weekends. I did notice
a few more folk 'kinda' racing in diesel trucks as well as other cars.

The alternate road up the 'mountain' is what the motorcycle riders call "The Diamondback."
Evidently the bikers would race up the Diamondback and then hurry back down the
main road.

Tonite was fun attention... new Toyota Supra right on my ass up to a light on a 45 mph road. A worthy challenger. After the light is a mountain road with lots of twists and turns and no side roads for about a 2 mile climb. Light turned green and I went a little harder to see if he still was pushing. He was so I hit it hard. He stayed close for about the first 1/4 mile up but once we hit the turns I dusted him and he gave up. At the next light he just put his head down - no more ass riding.

My wife calls it the ‘Mustang mating call.’

Its just a Mustang man. Nothing special. That attitude matches a Koenigsegg.

Last summer I was on the highway coming home from work on a weekend so there wasn't much traffic. Had the top down and the cruise set for 75 and just driving along and minding my own business. Came upon a beat up Honda civic loaded with teenage boys, they cheered and waved when I got close enough as my car has a healthy rumble at 75 mph with 3.73 gears and long tubes. So anyway, since I had plenty of room ahead of me and I was in a good mood, I decided to give them a thrill, so I dropped it down to fourth and hammered it. They went NUTS. I slowed down and waited for them to catch up and just smiled at them.

I legitimately surprised a BRZ on a mountain switchback the other day, he was riding my ass and I hit it HARD up through this super tight corner which has a posted limit of 25. I put the gap on him, in his element no less. After that he stayed way back, lol. Now given this was just me driving better I'm sure, but it still amused me.

I get that from the big Dodge trucks. Most of the time I think they just want to see what I have under the hood and push me to open it up.

Yeah pickups are for some reason some of the most common instigators. I drive one and don't ever feel the need to poke a sports car, don't know what the motivation is. One of the last times I ever drove my 2003 Cobra before selling it, I was in the fast lane of a 4-lane 40 mph road and passed a jacked up F150 who was crawling along in the slow lane. Soon as I did it he gunned it and passed me, then cut me off and slammed on his brakes. Dick. Just, why dude?
