Do have one question if anyone knows. The clutch in the car seemed completely different than my car. Does anyone know if they remove the spring? If so I’m taking mine out ASAP.

Just attended on Friday. Probably one of the most fun things I’ve done. Awesome school and great staff.

Are Track Attack GT350s cars modified in any way or they're bone stock?

They have roll bars and have race radios and 4 point harnesses. Other than that, I'm pretty sure its the stock 5.2 Voodoo under the hood and the stock brakes, which work QUITE well, I might add!

Do they give you those photos for free or are they part of an upgrade package or something? Those are fantastic photos - would love to print and frame one of those after the class.

The first day with the GT350's is part of the original package.

The second day, if you attend and track in the race ready Mustang GT's, you have an option of purchasing additional second day track session photos for a fee from the photographer.

Awesome, thanks! I'll just be doing the one-day in mid August, but excited to know I get pictures out of it.

I asked that when I was there. Reason being that the clutch felt totally different to my clutch. I thought perhaps they had taken the spring out. The instructors said they were stock except. AC and radio do not work and roll bar and four point harness is installed.

Yes, the clutch is different starting with 19+. The spring assembly as seen on the earlier models does not exist. There is a new torsion style spring instead.

Cool, but all the cars the students drive are 2016 track packs.

Len;
-I'm really glad you wrote that about the clutch in the 2019+ GT350, since I couldn't understand why the clutch in my new 2019 GT350 felt just right to me - not too firm or too soft, with predictable engagement - yet I had read comments and seen videos about the need to improve the clutch take-up, or how to install a Steeda clutch spring in place of the stock spring to improve the feel, etc., yet mine felt perfect as is. Now I know why!

-As of now I'm scheduled to attend the 2 day Track Attack September 8th -10th (or 9th - 10th, if the Reception dinner is cancelled, courtesy of Covid) and am looking forward to getting professional instruction on how to properly handle my car when I feel the need.........the need - for speed! :)

I see you from NJ. How do you plan get to Charlotte, flight or drive? I'm from NJ too. My TA is scheduled on August 13-14. I'm planning to drive there on my GT350 then after TA will go drive on Tail of the dragon. BTW we have group of GT350 owners here in NJ. You may join as on FB Garden State 5.2 Voodoo. We meet at the various places in NJ and drive together on the course we choose. End of August we plan to get entire Pocono race track only for our group for entire day. Let me know if you'd like to join.

I'll definitely be driving to Charlotte, but not as a 10 hour straight jaunt. About halfway there I'll be stopping overnight in Virginia to visit a former Army colleague and his wife from years ago, then I'm taking him with me as a non-driving guest to attend T.A. the following day. Thanks for mentioning the Garden State 5.2 Voodoo club; I'll check it out. That's the first I heard of it, and always wondered if there was such a group of like-minded enthusiasts in NJ. I'll consider joining the Pocono event, but don't want to commit just yet.

I am back from my two days at CLT motor speedway. I can't speak highly enough about the instructors at this school. The program is run so well. We had rain in the afternoon of the second day that caused the guys who upgraded to the cup 2 tires to have them changed for the session 3 and some left them on for session 4. The track was dry for session 5. They gave refunds of ~$65 per session. The instructors run on the regular tires, but everyone said the cup 2's were a big difference. My son, 17, was a non-driving guest and LOVED it. He did a fair amount of sitting, but the instructors did involve him when they could. I am new to a road course, did years of drag racing, and learned so much about the car and just how far to push it. By the way......you can push it way beyond what you think you can. The ride with the instructors teach you that. Let me know what questions you have if you are heading that way. You will love it.

Ditto to what Doug said, his son did get to sit a lot. hahaha I cannot say enough about how nice everyone was or how much fun the course was on both days. I pushed my car hard chasing our instructor and he was happy to let you test the limits. That being said, I do not think any of the GT350's had any issues the entire day. This car is as durable as advertised. Other than the heat/humidity being pretty miserable and one shot of rain slowing things down, it was an absolute blast. If you stay at the Holiday Inn Express, the Texas Roadhouse is across the street so you can walk to dinner.

It was nice to see so many guys drove their GT350's to the school. Sadly, no personal cars allowed on track.

These are the final numbers from the GT on the 2nd day. They had a lot of grip with Sport Cup 2's but were slower on the high banks. Loads of fun.
