Looks darn good, Don, maybe even better without the white or black contour. I'm still up in the air over that but glad both of you are happy.

I think I'll have mine painted like Jaime did although I don't have a buddy to get it done for free. :-) But, I'm gonna keep lookin'. <laughing>

One rattle can of gloss black should do it!
The TO color works well on the black background. The darker colors might not.

Yep, that would work, Don, the integrity of the decal is dependent upon the surface to which it is to be attached. Since you're only using it for shows, you should be fine although if it were me, on an unpainted rain tray, I would hit yours with a rattle can of clear, just to make sure the vinyl stays put, especially those scales and other small vinyl pieces. Additionally, a smooth surface allows the use of "lubricant" in the form of soapy water spray, to make it an easy task to get the decal exactly where you want it. That wouldn't have worked on the stock tray surface. Nonetheless, I'm glad you got yours to adhere well enough but do give that clearcoat consideration.

Jaime: I was searching for an image on my drive this morning and ran across the series on the rain tray decals. Got a grin out of this one because it looked a good bit like the real thing. <smile>

But...taking a longer and closer look at your newly-painted tray, I KNOW I have to have that done because it looks so PERFECT under that hood. Ultra-shiny, gloss black just like the vent. (It is painted on both sides, yes?)

So this is one of the original pre-sale cars with the decal installed? Not one of your mock-up images?

If this is one of the early cars, I agree, the rain tray looks painted. Perhaps they decided to forgo the painting of the rain tray, hence the deletion of the decal.....

I chose to only paint the visible side for a few reasons.

1. I didn't want any glossy reflection to possibly affect the beauty of the louvers when looking through the hood vent.
2. I didn't want the chance of that side getting dirty and looking like crap, since it can't be cleaned without taking it off.
3. I didn't want to worry about storing it and being concerned for the paint. Now I can pop it off and place it down on the unpainted side.

All good points, Jaime and I agree so I'll only have the visible side painted. Besides, it would be in shadow beneath the vent anyway.

As for the photo, no, that's my rendering <smile> from combining the drawing of the snake I used for your decal with a photo someone posted of an open hood, I believe. It was an early car but I think it was just the lighting that made it appear painted as I don't think it was.

Even so, Jaime, that's a mighty light vehicle, base I presume, but even the spoiler was removed. :-)

PS. 230lbs lighter than my Sarah, stock.

Last week I mounted the Ctek Battery Sense Bluetooth module in the lid of the fuse box. It works really well letting me know the state of the battery on my phone. I have already had it die once because I have been working not the car a lot and forget to disconnect the battery. That won't happen anymore.

I have the MUS 4.3, I think that this one is the one that replaced mine CTEK 40-206 MXS. I bought mine in Jan 2014.
Because the cars sit for long periods, I wanted to be able to tell how well the batteries were holding up so I checked out the CTEK CTX Battery Sense that Mark talked about. I will probably buy 2, one for each car.

Thanks, Earl. Not being a real engineer like you and others, the CTEK site is a bit overwhelming. You and I are in the same bote, we have two with which to deal. ;-)

I'll be picking up two 4.3's as well and I want Bluetooth so I'll be getting the "Battery Sense" module that Mark described, too.
