BBY Racing is excited to announce the start of its 2020 GT500 Project! The car will be raced in Time attack style events and we will continue our time attack success in 2020.

When Ford had announced the car we instantly knew that we needed to get our hands on one. In early July we had placed our order with Dave at Wynne Ford in Hampton VA. Thank you to Dave for making the process quick and easy and we were coming home with our new Velocity Blue GT500 Base with Recaros!

The first thing we did was get the car on the scales to see how heavy the car actually was. The car weighed 4097 with the Trunk spare tire kit and 4083 without. This is with 1/4 tank of fuel.

The next thing is I wanted to see how much the Stock Wheels had weighed, they came in at a staggering 65/66 Lbs for the front/rear. To get Perspective I weighed our 18x10 BBS with 285 Hankook RS4 and Forgeline 18x11 with Pirelli Slick

Let me guess, the plan is carbon fiber hood, lid, gut the inside, foged wheels, lithium battery (if your class allows), racing seat, etc. When you are done, you'll be looking at a 3800ish pound car depending how far you go.

Good luck with the project. As soon as I get mine, I will be doing some lightening as well.

Just about Nailed it :) 3800Lbs is about right for a Supercharged Street/Track car, a Zr1 is 3600Lbs.

I've put a lot of thought into this as well. It gets tricky when you start adding weight though..... that's why I had watson fabricate a lightweight roll cage to my spec weighing in at 42 pounds. Are you going with 4pt or 6pt?

The difference between the standard 4pt and my cage is about 30#. Give Frank at Watson Racing a call, he may have one left.

Wheels, Brakes, Seats, Coilovers, battery and rear seat delete.

Still have some more I could pull out but have to add the cage still.

I like to disassemble things.
Do the AP's you put on there now require a master cylinder change?

He was going to put the seat delete in, but somebody bought the last one.

I was going to say that this a golden opportunity for FP to jump back into the fray but they struggle with putting a postage stamp on my owner's package and dropping it off with the mailman. Sounds like a job for Watson then.

I'm sure it'll show up eventually, Tob, but it IS kind of a slap in the face. And if I could alter the numerals on mine to match yours, I'd be be happy to duit. They (either one of the shipments,) just don't tickle my wickle particularly. <smiling>
